[(Y/n)'s POV]

So...I collapsed from starvation. Are you happy about that? Yes, I planned to steal and I won't hesitate to take anyone in my way even if they're helpless old people. But let me tell you something.

Selflessness is an illusion.

Its a concept to make people feel better about themselves, that they're doing something great only to feed their ego. Even if it doesn't seem like it, even if they put the most convincing facade enough to fool themselves, it's still there. That tiny little expectation of wanting something in return.

So I can assure you that the people you think are innocent,

"Dear you're awake! Ed can you go check the stove?"

"Oh I hope she's okay. Don't worry honey, everything will be just fine."

Must be planning something...

I pushed myself upright from the couch, trying to assess my surroundings. This was most likely the inside of their house. Lloyd grabs me by the arm with an anxious expression that screamed 'are you okay?'

I wonder why he was so attatched to me? Is he that easily swayed by my words?

"(Y/n) was it? Lloyd was so worried about you," Edna clasps her hand over her heart, "Come here, you must be hungry."

I was dragged into the kitchen.

"Here you go you two, some nice delicious chicken stew~"

"It's also my son's favourite!" Ed commented, "Oh I wish he was here to enjoy it..."

As I looked around their kitchen, I could here the loud slurping noise across the table. "Mmmph, so good," Typical children. If mother was here she would slap his head upside down. So many petty rules she makes...glad I left her.

I noticed a familiar face inside the pictures posted on the fridge. Brown hair, dorky eyes and the same dorky smile with parents that talked too much. Hmmm, I wouldn't be surprised if they're related.

"That's our son Jay when he was three years old," Edna fondly takes the photo in her hands, "Isn't he adorable~?"

"Time sure flies, now he's a ninja," Ed stated.

On the otherside, Lloyd was muttering with his mouth full, "I ghate dos nijwas"

"What was that dear?"

"Nothing!"

Convinced that it wasn't poisoned, I gave in and ate the food. I'll pretend to believe them so that they will lower their gaurd and reveal me their true intentions.

I let out a satisfied sigh as if I was full, "Is the bathroom around that corner?"

"Yes sweetie. Are you done so soon?"

"I'll be back to have seconds," getting up, I walked slowly out, "Don't worry."

The next door was a small living room with two rockback chairs and no signs of any...suspicious activity. Weird. Most houses I've been to would have a kidnapper ready in the closet but this closet was empty.

Then I noticed a weird smell coming from the hallway, it was certainly not the food but the kind that resembles body odour. At the thought, I was immediately alarmed and stealthed my way to it's direction expecting a hidden dead body.

Turns to be what I assume was Jay's room, "He must've been a shut in before becoming a ninja," I said while pinching my nose.

It was a blue themed bedroom and had interesting details you cannot miss. A body pillow decorated with japanese-styled cartoon layed sideways by my feet. There were comic books neatly sorted by the shelves, topped with tiny sculpture-like figures and posters on almost every wall. Jay was a complete nerd.
