We are walking through the forest, leaves crunching, the cool crisp autumn air blowing my hair all over my face. "Careful Emi, the ground here is super uneven and the roots are massive!" She acknowledges with a quick jab, "I've always been better than you, klutz."

The leaves open up to reveal a path that we both haven't seen before we combed the area for months. The police reports and news said they only found his backpack and a few puddles of blood. Luckily, I keep my knife in my pocket if anything goes down, Emi can escape. Back to the path, it just appeared out of nowhere. Almost like someone made it for us, I'm hesitant but Emi is on a mission. I see her take the lead.

"Emi, wait up." The path had thick brush on either side. Emi could easily fit but, I had to shuffle sideways to clear the brush, suddenly a chill went up my spine and the woods started digging up....it hasn't rained in a couple of days. "Emi!" "Emi!" I shout out, only muffled replies I make out are the words, "come....I hear someone!"
