He was wearing a navy marching band jacket and red skinny jeans, his hair still doing the thing where it didn't really do anything, despite his constant nervous flattening. Adam (that was his name), had arrived half an hour early. He still didn't even know her name. And he was half an hour early.

She arrived fashionably late, wearing a forest green dress spotted with black animals, elephants and lions and giraffes. The dress's name was Keana. And hers was Tara.

He opened the door for her, she curtsied and they went inside. Thus began a lovely day, with laughter (her laugh was like a small silver bell being thrown down a flight of stairs) and a surprising amount of grace on Adam's part, along with quite a bit of flustered blushing, also on Adam's part.

The details of their jokes and the like would bore you, but Adam decided by the end of it that she was, in fact, perfect, in that disgustingly teenage way young people fall in love.

She apparently enjoyed herself too, as she allowed herself to be booked in for dinner later that week. On Tuesday.
