[Liara POV]

[Stuyvesant High School, Manhattan, New York City]

Once we got the 911 call we rushes at the scene, ESU was swarming all around the site. Grabbing his vest, Murphy made his way over to the ESU Commander. "What's happening, Commander?" Murphy asks. The commander looks at Murphy and response to his inquiry, "One of my team is engaging the Vigilante. We're about to mobilize another squad to go in." "What about the hostages?" Murphy asks. "Most of them are accounted for. We're still sweeping the building," he says. Securing a tactical vest and assault rifle, I went to join the strike team. Murphy took point.

Entering the building, Murphy, and the others went up to the upper levels while I stood securing the ground floor with six others. The ESU that was with me began to sweep all the room on the ground level. I made my way to the back alley behind the school building. Scanning the area, I didn't see any threat, but suddenly I hear something that sounded like a rope being zip. Looking up, I saw Sue, Brain, and the vigilante Karai zips lining across to another building. I sprint into the building they zip-line to, ran up the stairs, pistol at the aim. Karai bursts into the stairway, gun ready. Brain and Sue close behind. "Karai! What are you doing here, Karai?" I ask, sighting the gun at her. Aiming her pistol, "Protecting the twins your ESU death squad just tried to kill," she snaps. "What?" I say with disbelief. "It's true. A unit of your brothers in blue tried to put a bullet in the head of my brother and me," Sue spat from behind Karai.

"What? Why?" I ask surprised and confused. "I got reasons to believe it's connected to whatever Conner was investigating," she tells me, lowering her weapon, "Syndicate. He was investigating something called Syndicate. That's as far as I know." Karai began to make her way past me. Quickly, I block her path. "I can't let you leave here with the twins. They need to be put into protective custody," I told her simply. She looks at me with those dead white eyes. Her posture yells, 'Get out of my way before I put you down.' Knowing it would be a lost battle, I step to the side. She made her pass me, but stop half way toward the door, turning to look at the twins. "No, you're not coming with me," Karai tells the twins, "You're better off with her and her partner Murphy. I trust them more." "What? No way, they're NYPD. The very same fucker who just tried to kill us not too long ago," Brain snaps. "Maybe, but they're the good cop. The ones you can trust. And besides, where I'm going you can't follow," she tells them, walking out, leaving the twins with me.

"Liara, status," Murphy calls over the comlink. Tapping my comlink, "I've found the twins in the building behind the school. Don't report anything to ESU," I say. "What? Why?" he asks. I told him everything Sue and her brother told me about what happen, especially the part where the vigilante jumped in to save them. Murphy texts me an address of a safe house to take the twins.

[Murphy POV]

[Safe House, New York City]

Driving up to the safe house, I saw Liara and the twins. Without out wasting time we all quickly rush inside. "Are you guys okay?" I ask. "Yeah, thank to Raijin and Karai," Sue says. Though I didn't like the vigilantes, I was glad they were there to protect the twins. But that didn't change anything. "Okay, this is what going to happen. The two of you are going to stay here in this house while we figure out how to handle this situation. You'll be safe here. No one else knows about this place, completely off the grid. Once this's over we'll provide you with new identities and a new location. A re-start so to speak," I tell the twins. As Liara and I made our leave, Brandon grabs my arm and slip something in my hand. I look back at him. "Don't trust the people in the task-force," he says. Looking down at my hand I saw that it a flash drive.

[Liara POV]

[1:40 PM, 10th Precinct, NYPD special task force unit, Manhattan, New York City]

When we got back to the squad room after dropping off the twin to the safe house, McMillan went off on Murphy once he saw him coming through the doors. "What the Hell are you doing, Murphy?" McMillan hisses, walking up to him, "I told you this isn't your case! It's homicides'." Murphy stood tall, "With all due respect, Sir. Dispatch called a 10:13. I was doing my duty." "Don't play that shit with me, Murphy. ESU had it fully under control," McMillan says. "Is that what they said? Because it didn't look like it," Murphy snaps. Glaring, "Stay off the case," McMillan says, "Step out of line again and I'll have your badge." McMillan turns his heel and makes his way to his office, "Last warning." Walking pass me, Murphy taps my shoulder, "We need to talk, now," he says.
