Humble Beginnings

Jesus was the Son

Of the Father, the holy one

The King of all the lands

Yet as a baby, embraced in His parents’ hands

Born in a stable in the dark of night

The guiding star, the light

Shone bright above the humble stable

The shepherds and wise men came, as they were able

For He was the Saviour, Christ without a doubt

And that is what Christmas is all about

Give thanks for He, who died for us all

Yet lived as a human, and did not fall

Tempted, although faultless

Humble beginnings, He sought less

We want everything; He wanted us to live

Don’t let His life slip through a sieve

The sacrifice He gave saved us from our fall

For the Son of God was a human like us all

He was born in a humble stable

So let us celebrate, as we are able
