My Brother's Best Friend

Chapter 1

Annalisa POV:

I'm at the park just walking around enjoying the view and sunlight. It's a beautiful day to go outside, good thing I decided to leave my room for a bit if not Mom will scold me for not being active or at least clean my room. Weird...why am I the only one here? It's like no one else is here? (I look around to see if I'm really the only one here.) I sighed in relief when I saw that there's a guy sitting by the bench.

I walked towards his direction, but it seems as if I am not leaving my spot. I fast walk but still nothing changed it's like I'm on a thread mill, I ran faster but to no avail. I stopped to take a breath and started walking with a calm, clear mind.

I closed my eyes so that I can calm down. After a few seconds I opened them and saw that I'm in front of the person, he seemed not bothered with my presence. I guess he hasn't noticed me yet?

So I sat down beside him and started looking around my surroundings. I was enjoying the cool winds and the sound of birds chirping, when suddenly the stranger beside me asked a question he said,

Stranger: "Hi, do I know you? Have we met before?" I look at him confused.

Me: "Excuse me, what?"

Stranger: "Sorry this might sound weird, but I feel like I know you and you know me. As if we meant something to one another or we were best friends. I just can't remember but I feel like I know you from somewhere."

Me: "Sorry, but I have never seen you before and don't you think I might look a bit like her?"

Stranger: "Yeah, maybe you're right."

I looked at him to study his features but I couldn't see his face. It was a blur...I was a bit startled when he suddenly stood up.

Stranger: "Sorry for wasting your time, but thanks for the short talk."

Me: "No, it's alright and your welcome."

Stranger: "I'll be on my way. Bye."

Me: "Bye..."

A part of me, didn't want him to leave which is strange because I have never felt that to someone who I just met. As I watch him go; the further he goes the more he fades away, when he was no longer in my vision there was a sudden emptiness within me.

Well that's nothing new, I have always felt that way ever since my ex best friend betrayed me. And the times I was hurt and rejected, I learned that I shouldn't let a lot of people into my life because I know that they will just leave me in the end.

Why do I get the feeling that I know him? When I got near him I feel so happy, so relieved.

(I suddenly hear a noise.)

I look around to find the source of the noise, but failed then suddenly the ground started shaking. "Is there an earthquake?" I thought to myself and ran to take cover but the shaking stopped and everything went pitch black.

Now, I'm just floating in a dark place...
I look around trying to figure out where I am but nothing. A few minutes passed everything suddenly went white, I closed my eyes because of this. As I opened them, I was looking at the ceiling then got up looked around and I realize it was my room.

Oh...it was just a dream well that explains a lot. I sigh, then got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower, as I was showering; I thought about the dream. Usually, I woyld have nightmares that makes me tired but today I felt calm and relaxed, I took my shampoo then put some on my hand then rinsed my hair and do what I do.

(25 minutes later...)

After bathing and brushing my teeth, I went to go open the door when I opened it I see a guy sitting at the edge of my bed facing his phone. I stood there in shock because he might be an intruder, he felt like he was being watched as he lifted his head and looked around. When his eyes landed at mine it went wide and I can see he was shock as well but covered it up quickly, he diverted his gaze and realized that I was only in my towel, he blushed and looked back at the ground.

2 minutes later...

I stood there and felt the awkward tension of the room. I finally got the courage to talk and said,

Me: "Who are you and what are you doing in my room?! He seemed taken a back of my sudden out burst, I was also shock then he replied,

Intruder: "I-um...uh..I'm a friend of Alex...and I thought this was his room.

(Not again...I let out a deep sign.)

Me: "This is my room his is at the other side."

Intruder: "O-oh ok. I'll be going now..." I just nod at him and patiently wait for him to get out of my room. As he reached the door he turned around and said,

Intruder: "I'm sorry for going into your room, I didn't mean to barge in without your permission."

Me: "It's ok. This isn't new, a lot of his friends did the same mistake, so I got used to it, I was just surprise because I didn't hear you come in."

Intruder: "Hope you have a great day and I'm sorry again."

After apologising, he left my room and went to my brother's room. I got some clothes from my closet and started to prepare myself for the day.
I wore a white t-shirt and black ripped jeans with a cute pair of sandals, I also wore two gold bracelets and a necklace that I got from my mother as a birthday gift. I dried my hair and went down stairs as I reached the living room there was a delicious aroma, it smelled like...PANCAKES! I ran to the kitchen and took a plate then placed five pancakes on it. What? I love pancakes there are the best breakfast meal! I went to get whipped cream then grabbed some blue berries at the fridge and put them on top of my pancakes. I looked at my masterpiece and patted myself for doing a great job because it looked so damn good. I ate them happily and waited for my brother to come down, while waiting I finished eating then washed my plate.

I went to the living room turned on the TV, then went to netflix to watch "Atypical". I was about to finnish Episode. 11, when my brother came down stairs, behind him was the guy who was at my room earlier. I look at him examining his features, but I could sense that we have met before. I just can't remember where and when, so I shrugged it off and turned off the TV. Then my phone dinged I got a message from my best friend Allison she texted me saying,

Allikins💕: "Hey girl! Wanna go to the mall today?"

Me: "Sure, what time?"

Allikins💕: "11:30am? We'll be eating lunch at my house because Mom misses you and wants you to come over."

Me: "Oh ok! I'll see you later, pick you up at 11:20?"

Allikins💕: "Fine by me, Cya😝"

I look at the time and it's 10:25am, so I went up stairs and picked out my clothes. And played with my phone then scrolled at Facebook, after playing I checked the clock and it is time to go. I am wearing a white crop top, a leather jacket, black ripped jeans and black vans. I'm a bit boyish considering all of my friends are boys and my Mom really doesn't care what I wear so I dress what makes me comfortable.

I wore my sunglasses and a small bag, I went to the garage and took my keys. And looked at my motorcycle a black Yamaha R6 a gift from my Dad, I opened the garage doors and started the engine it roared to life. I went to Allison's house by the time that I arrived lunch was starting.

I waited for her to come out so I plugged my earphones in and listened to "Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa". Allison said goodbye to her Mom and started walking towards me, she was grinning ear to ear and when she reached me.

She greeted me by smacking the back of my head I said, "Ouch! The hell!" She just smiled like an idiot and hugged me, "I missed you so much, dork! You have been gone for a month and didn't even bother telling me you were back, instead I got a text from your Mom saying that if I knew that you were back." I replied sheepishly, "Well, I-um...I didn't want to bother you because everytime I text someone or talk to them, I mostly get ignored or just end up just bothering them." I lower my head out of embarrassment, "Aww, Annie look at me..." I didn't dare to look at her, I just stared at the ground. "Annie, you know you could never be a burden to me, we're best friends." I smiled and looked at her, I hugged then thanked her for being a great friend. "We should go, don't want to catch traffic!" I gave her my helmet and she sat behind me, I asked her if she was comfortable and cheerfully replied that everythinf is fine so I started the engine and headed to the mall.
