Scarlett Van der Woodsen played absentmindedly with a piece of her long, wavy blonde hair in last period Latin, gazing out of the window onto the stone steps of Constance Billard. She wished it was double photography, so she could go to Barneys or go home and watch movies in her princess bed. Although, she was silently greatful that it wasn't double photography, so she could continue to avoid Allegra. At the thought of her dark-haired friend, Scarlett turned to look behind at the back row, where Allegra usually sat in Latin, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Looks like Blondie's not the only one doing the avoiding.
Scarlett furrowed her brows, turning back to look out the window. Why would Allegra be avoiding her? She was the one who had kissed Scarlett.
Looks like someone's too used to turning boys down after they've fallen desperately in love with her.
"Miss Thorpe!" Their Latin teacher, Ms Ramos said in her usual passive-agressive, sickly-sweet tone. "So good of you to grace us with your prescence.
Scarlett turned her head sharply, and her lake blue eyes landed on Allegra. She was stood in the doorway, her messy hair down in scruffy yet pretty waves around her shoulders, and she wore her Constance uniform with the shirt untucked a little. She met Scarlett's eye, and didn't smile, only stomped to the back of the classroom in her black Doc Marten boots.
Scarlett looked back at Allegra as she sat down, but still the girl's expression was stony.
Now here's a situation our golden girl has never experienced before: rejection.

Hadley reached into her emerald-green crocodile effect Miu Miu tote bag as she left the school's gates, fishing out a Marlboro light and placing it between her lips. She felt a tap on her shoulder as she fumbled around in her too-small-for-school-books bag for a lighter, and swivvelled. It was Gabriel, smiling again. Why did he keep smiling?
Love, baby.
"We need to finish out little research," he reminded her as she lit her cigarette.
Hadley could've told him to go away and do it himself, but she didn't have the heart. Maybe she could forget the pain he'd caused her when he'd left, and even before that. Before anything had even happened between them, Gabriel would always play with her emotions, subtly her little crush by flirting with other girls in front of her. And when he'd left, he'd made her feel like an idiot for trusting him, for loving him.
Doesn't really seem like she's in the mood to forgive and forget.
"Meet me at mine in an hour," she puffed on her cigarette, staring at him very seriously. "And once we're done with this, you leave me alone."
Gabriel smiled and nodded, ignoring her last comment. He was sure she didn't really mean that, and besides, once they'd been alone together for an hour or so she'd forget about everything and realise how much she missed him.
Like she didn't already know.

Henry clicked on Camille's number on his phone for about the eleventh time that afternoon, listening to the ringing. He could imagine her looking down at her phone right now, and even if she didn't pick up, the thought of her being there was enough for him.
Hello, stalker?
Henry's heart melted at the sound of her voicemail, which he'd pretty much memorised by now, despite the fact that he'd never left a message.
