Who knew I Would Date A Nerd For Good Grades

Chapter 2

     I mouthed the words to Eminems Beautiful lyrics as I listened to my ipod. I shoved my binder in the bottom of my locker on all of Mecknas -my locker partner- pointless binders that she never used, some of them didn't even have papers in them. I slammed my locker shut and headed for the lunch room.

     Scanning the tables for my usuall group of friends I spotted them in the coner, all of them laughing at something Fern said. Walking over I sat by Emily. I pulled out on ear bud to Semi-tune into their conversation. "Hey guys" I said as I looked around at my friends.

     "Hey" It was Sam who answered and then truned to Fern. "Ohmegod! Did you hear about the new book Stephan King just came out with?! It's amazing!!!!" Sam shouted in Ferns ear. Sam thing was Stephan King. She loved to read almost as much as I did, maybe more.

    "That's great." Fern said without the excitment that Sam wanted her to show. She picked at her food untill Lily came with her pizza and sat next to her. "Lily! Please can I have your crust today. I'm starving!" Fern said as she set her plate of disgusting pizza on the table. I rolled my eyes.

    "Hah no way that's the best part and I'm saving every last part for myself." She taunted as she waved it in the air. I heard Fern growl. Lily then looked at me. "Hey no lunch today? Jeez you never eat Niki what are you anerexic?" She asked squinting her eyes at me.

    "No I just hate the disgusting food they serve and I have no cold lunches to take to school." I simply replied. Sighing I looked at the faces of my friends. Sam, Fern, Lily, Emly and Autummn -Who hadn't said a word sense I arrived- a few where missing. "Where's Adriana and her Tanner?" I asked curiously.

    "Oh you mean you don't know?" It was Fern who replied. "They broke up last Friday when you where skipping." She said sighing with pity for Adriana.

    "Oh jeez." I said as I bit my lip. Though I was happy that I wasn't there. There's something I hate more than school and that's drama. But I was about to make more the next time I saw Tanner. Adriana was the friend who I felt like actually like me. I shook my head in anger.

     "Yeah. Adriana was crying so hard..." Autumn said, the first thing she's probably said all lunch. "She came over to my house last night and we stayed up till I had to leave for school. She cried so hard. They've been going out for like a year." I could have sworn I saw a tear fall from her face but how fast she brushed her arm acrost her face I couldn't be sure.

     "You know what?" Sam said turning to face Autumn. "That cheeting bastard is going to pay for what he did." I smiled to myself.

     "Hey Sam." I said a little demonically. Okay I lied earlier I love drama. Not so much when people get over dramatic about something but I loved to get in fights. "How about we go pay Tanner a visit?" I asked.

     "No." Autumn said in a hard voice. "Don't lay a finger on him. Don't even talk to him Niki. You too sam." She said firmly. I rolled my eyes. I got up from my seat. 

     "I i got to go." I said as I saw Sebastian walk in with no place to sit, just standing around. I looked back at my friends. Should I tell them I was now dating Seb? They'd probably make fun of me. Autumn glared at me. "Oh my god Autumn Im not going to go talk to tanner I'm going to umm go talk to Sebastian." I said walking away before any of them could say anything.

     "Hey" I breathed as I walked up to Sebastain with his plate of food in his hand.

    "Oh hey Niki." He said as he smiled. "What's up?" He asked only hald smiling at me. I knew he didn't want to admitt that he had no place to sit.

     "Oh just thought it we where gonna do this for real that you could help wme with my uhh math home work. How about I got get my binder and you sit over there and wait for me?" I said as I pointed over to the half empty table across the luncg room.

    "Oh okay..." he said as he walked over to the table that I had instructed him to sit at. I smiled and ran as fast as I could to my locker to retrieve my math binder and pencil case.

    When I returned I saw him just staring at his food. "Back" I said as I laid my binder on the table across from him. I opened it and pulled out my planner.

     "Oh okay. So what's your homework today?" He asks as he looks at my planner as I opened it up to my page from today.

     ''Calculus book page 72 probelms 1-15." I said stiching my toungue out in disgust of math. My wortste and most hated topic.

     He laughed and smiled sweetly and warm at my attempt to look disgusted about math. "Okay" he said as he opened my book. I pulled out a pencil and opened up my spiral pad.

     "I'll ask if I need help on a problem so you can get back to eating." I said as I read the first question and knowing that I already needed help. I bit my lip and tapped my pencil on my book.

     "Thats okay Im not hungry." He said as he pushed his plate asside. "Okay so here." He said as he scooted closer to the table from the bench. "Put this here and subtract that and then devide by 2." he said explaining how to do the problem.

     I smiled. "Thanks I said." I quickly did as he said and  came out with an answer. he studied it carefully.

     "Sorry Niki thats wrong." He said frowning. "You didn't devide right." He said as he pointed to the messed up problem on my sheet. I groaned and quickly fixed it.

    "Very good. Now moving on." He said as we contuined. If he handn't been here I would have been a mess. He was a huge save.

     "Thanks." I muttered when I put all my finsihed homework away. We finished it all durring lunch. "Hey if you dont have plans after school do you want to come over to my house?" I asked and smiled sweetly. "Oh well that is if you want to. I mean you could show me how to devide better and you know all that nasty stuff in english...And I can give you a few 'Kool kids' pointers" I added in a rush.

    "Oh okay kool." He said smiling at me with the sweetest face that I almost melted. I jumped when the bell rang."I'll drive us so meet me in the parking lot in fron of the double doors. K?" He said as he got up.

     "Okay sweet." I said as I flashed him a smiled and turned the other way.
