I've decided to stop with all the Point of Views (POV ) because I think it's stupid to have a book called Life of April and she's not even in most of the story so it'll be in April's view. So for now on if someone decides to keep reading this, just keep a heads up that this will only be in one view now. Not Brelle's, not April's siblings or mother, no one but herself. Without further ado, here is the next chapter and hopefully I can make it long.
April
I woke up randomly in the middle of the night to hear the front door being tampered with. I stayed calm because if we were being robbed, they won't take much because we don't have much. I tiptoed to Omar's room and rocked him. He just turned the other way. I knew he was a heavy sleeper so I used all my force and pushed him off the bed. He fell and the floor made a loud vibration sound.
"Bruh what the fuck you doin? " He snapped turning on his bedside lamp.
"Me? We being robbed lil nigga. "I said hastily. He got up and put on a shirt. He grabbed the baseball bat outta his closet and approached the burglar quietly. The person was wearing a stylish outfit and we knew it had to be a girl considering the fact she had on a short floral skirt and sandals. I pushed Omar to attack her as she put a few things in the fridge.
"Why she adding stuff to our fridge?" He asked quietly. Our retarded asses were crouched behind our couch watching the girl closely. She didn't notice our presence, instead she just kept putting more items in the refrigerator. I squinted my eyes at the bookbag she wore. I noticed it was Candice's and oddly she took it everywhere now. I got up and turned on the light revealing her.
"You look so suspicious right now." I shook my head. She turned around and grinned sheepishly.
"Well it takes a suspicious person to know one. Hungry? Because it seems like I'm gonna provide for this family for now on." Candice replied taking out a gogurt from the fridge. Ole greedy ass.
"Man what is you doing tho bruh? I'm not finna support you because I know you in the wrong." I said sternly. She shrugged.
"If you don't support me I won't tell you. Besides I'm doing all of us a favor right now. Me and Asia. Labor will be much easier for all of us. When I turn 16 I'm gonna be just like you April. I'm gonna drop out for the streets pretty soon but for now my job is to help out cuz we all know damn sure Omar and his shitty ass job ain't gonna help nun." She explained. I got quiet and looked at Omar. What she said was kinda true but it's the thought that counts.
"Oh nigga so you wanna be sum you not? You want to be in these streets and for what when all you gone do is be behind bars or in a fucked up position like mama was. You know what? It's late. I won't entertain this shit come on April, we finna leave her ass to rot." Omar said turning away. I gave Candice a look of disappointment and walked away as well but before we could get to the hallway, she threw her bookbag towards us. It landed in front of me. I picked it up and looked at her. It was heavy like a boulder.
"What's this? "I asked confused. She crossed her arms against her chest and glared.
"See for yourself. And afterwards give it back." She said with urge in her voice. It's obvious she doesn't give a fuck about her life. My arms started shaking and I don't even know why I'm scared but I am. I tugged the zipper of the bookbag halfway back still shaking until Omar yanked it.
"Lemme see this shit." He said as a result. I sighed heavily. He opened the bag quickly and looked inside and he looked up real quick. "Where did you get it?" She smiled and rolled her eyes. I looked at it and seen a lot of money, at least it was a lot I ever seen.
