"I'm not done talking to you, young man," Mrs. Reilly snapped, sparkles flying from her fingers. "I asked you to finish your chores before leaving school."
"Mom, you're so pushy," Alexander complained, trudging over to the sink. "It's your fault with stuck living on stupid earth. If you hadn't had b-"
"That's enough, Alexander. Get them done then you can go out with your human friends."
There were two main types of guys in his town. There were the sweet guys who were careful with their words and thoughtful with their actions. Then, there were the ones who acted on impulses.
Alexander hardly thought before he spoke. He rarely cared about the consequences for his actions. Don't be confused, however, he was still a nice guy. He just didn't seem to quite grasp the concept of actions and consequences, as well as people's feelings being hurt.
Alexander was not guy type number one, though his mother wishes he was.
Anyone may think he's some sort of demon, right?
His mother and father were angels who had taken up the challenge of living on Earth. They would be rewarded when they came back to heaven, and what better a place to teach their son discipline than a shitty planet such as Earth?
The company Alexander surrounded himself with was nothing short of his own attitude. The boys he hung out with were the type of boys you would avoid on the walk home from school. They didn't lay a finger on you, but they wouldn't want to leave you alone either.
If you were a girl, you'd be catcalled. If you were a guy, you'd be insulted.
Maybe that was just simply the way of the world.
Nothing seemed quite simple enough, though. Everything had another layer, another story, another side.
Alexander was attractive, and he knew it. His blond hair swept over her head, framing his face in a way no human could manage. His blue eyes could be compared to much more than simply the ocean. It was the sky after the sun peeked out from the clouds. It was a cyan butterfly, spreading it's wings for the first time.
He had a hot human girlfriend, but he didn't really like her all that much. She was loud and cheerful. He didn't care for that much.
He knew he needed to avoid falling in love if he'd end up going back to heaven anyway. He'd have to leave his love, and that just wasn't something he was strong enough to do.
Alexander seemed to be a major dick at first glance, but as said before, there's always another layer.
His story was rather sad. Imagine an angel, who is supposed to be a perfect being, abandoning their own offspring!
It's not that he didn't care about other people. He just couldn't find a reason to care. What if someone betrayed him like before? He couldn't take that chance.
Not when he was no longer a helpless child.

Rain looked down at her outfit. She couldn't see her reflection, so this would have to do. She smiled to herself. She absolutely loved this time of day.
She would go out into the nature of Earth and take in the scenery. She remembered every detail of the striking beauty. She then projected what she had admired onto a blank paper, turning a simple white piece of parchment into yet another mesmerizing work of art.
Rain was quiet and reserved, simply paying attention to the Earth, rather than people. She'd begged the ruler of the underworld to let her have a life on Earth, and she planned to live it to the fullest.
She quietly slipped from her house into the sunlight, as it warmed her skin without overheating her. The underworld was very hot, you see.
A soft breeze blew through Rain soft brunette hair. Her hair was always messy, no matter what she tried to do. It wasn't too messy. It was just the right amount, as if she had meant to tease her hair for volume.
Her piercing green eyes, which could only compare to the moon's beauty, landed on a beautiful lark, perched on a tree. A small smile curved on her rose lips. She stepped a few feet closer to get a better look before the lark spread its wings, almost as if she were showing off. The sun caught between the outlines of the feathers, creating a light silhouette around the magnificent bird.
She noticed not the people around her, walking on the street, making their way to meetings or cafes. She only studied the bird as it flapped it's wings and flew away.
"He was meant to be free," she whispered to herself with a smile. He left not a moment too soon, for the bird's beauty was etched into her mind. Every color, every movement, and every detail would forever be able to be recalled.
"Why don't you get a job, so you have something to do with all the time you seem to have," a voice said behind her.
"But I don't need money. My master sends as much as I need. There's no reason to waste time on employment," Rain said, turning around with a smile. Her green eyes met soft brown. Usually, her best friend's eyes compared to chocolate, but in the sunlight, they became pools of honey under the glow of the flaming light source.
"You're really something," the girl laughed. "What are you up to?"
"I'm talking to you, Ariana," Rain answered, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Out on another adventure, I'd suppose?" Ariana chuckled, patting the shorter girl on the head.
"I like adventures," Rain said simply, leaning into her friend. "But I also like coffee. Want to go to the cafe?"
"You know it," Ariana winked. She assisted Rain in putting her sketchbook back into her backpack. They soon started on their journey to their favorite coffee shop.

"Caramel Latte!" the barista shouted. Rain made her way up to the counter, her fingers closing around the cup. Just then, another hand reached for the cup as well.
"I ordered the caramel latte," the boy said.
"So did I," Rain replied simply. "Check the name and see who's it is," she suggested.
He glanced at the name before rolling his eyes and surrendering the cup.
"Thank you, stranger," Rain said, grabbing a straw and sipping on the drink.
As Rain walked away, Alexander smiled to himself. This girl was definitely different. And he liked that a lot.
