Bear sits on the counter as she brushes his hair, he had long and soft curly hair that looked blonde in some lighting and brown some days. He always had such soft hair but it didn't make sense to her because Bear's hair was very much different from their parents, different from her father. She smiles as she brushes into a bun and Bear looks in the mirror. "Nooo, I want it-I want low like yours." Bear says and Gardenia brushes it down and she tied it back. "There, you're like me." Gardenia smiles and Bear looks in the mirror. "Groovy." He grinned and Gardenia helped him off of the counter.

Their parents were at work and Gardenia finished cleaning the entire house, she did promise Bear that she was gonna take him to the video store to get him some tapes. She was exhausted but she did promise him and she keeps her promises.

The siblings leave their apartment and Gardenia decided to stop by and see if Gordon wanted to come. Gardenia knocks on the door and Bear jumped up and down as he waited giddily. Bear really likes Gordon because he liked books, he was really nice and Gordon always gives him candy when he didn't have to but he does. Gardenia honestly thinks Bear has a slight crush because he always asks if he can go see Gordon.

The door opens and Gardenia sees a blonde woman who hardly wore clothes, well appropriate enough clothes because Bear stood next to Gardenia. Bear hides behind Gardenia because he didn't want to be rude and cover his eyes plus he didn't understand why she was almost naked answering the door like that. "Hi, is Gordon home?" Gardenia questioned, her eyes stayed on the woman's face.

The woman stares at Gardenia. "He's in his room. Gordon!" The woman yelled and she gazes at Gardenia. "Some colored girl wants to see you!" She added and Bear comes from behind Gardenia because that word wasn't a good word to use, he knew it was bad because people used it in a bad way towards his sister or his Mom. "You big stupid butt-" Gardenia covers Bear's mouth and she looks at Gordon's mom who luckily wasn't paying attention and Gardenia forced a smile at his Mom then she looks at Bear who was muffling something under her hand.

Gordon comes and his Mom leaves, Gardenia uncovers her mouth and Bear angrily pouted. "I hate to be a meanie but your Mom is a stupid butthead and-and I don't like her." Bear huffed and instead of Gordon saying otherwise, he chuckles, he was so amused. "Yeah, sorry, her mind is still in the 50s and she doesn't like black people. No one in my family does." Gordon says and Gardenia slowly nodded her head. "Well... I wanted to see if you would like to come and hang out with me and Bear. We're going to the music store to get some tapes and records. Then we can come back to your house and paint or something but before my parents get home of course." Gardenia says and Gordon looks behind him.

"Yeah but.. I think we need to push the painting back because my Mom is about to have someone over." Gordon says and Gardenia was understood. She nodded with a smile and Gordon smiles as he stares at her for a moment. Gordon blinked and he nervously looked away. "I'll get my jacket, give me a moment." Gordon says and he shuts the door.
