ILLUSION

**Chapter 1**Unforgivable

The door leading to Kiki's room swung open, "Get your things, we're leaving", Sarah Miller, Kiki's birth mother said as she pushed herself into the room. The war between her parents had started again, and her mother had decided to take the next step to move out.

Sarah wasn't married, she didn't even know where Kiki's birth father was. She lived her life in a small two bedroom apartment with her boyfriend and her eleven year old daughter.

Kiki struggled as she stuffed her worn out backpack with a few of her precious things. "You dare leave this building and I will never take you back!" John, her mother's boyfriend yelled from the living room. John and Sarah had both put up with each other abusive nature. He would lay his hands on her to the point where her face would be swollen and unrecognizable and sometimes throw her out leaving Kiki in his care until Sarah was allowed to return. Sarah wasn't any better, she would scream at his face and go through his things and sometimes she would slap him.

Now John can't dare touch her and she knew it. If he did he would be locked up for forty-five years... the law said.

Sarah and Kiki got into the old silver 2005 Toyota Camry. It has been about thirteen years since she got the car for her sixteenth year old birthday. Back then the car was everyone's eye candy but at this moment it was a worn out scrap piece of metal with scratches and dents from different occasions.

At first, the car didn't start but after a few attempts it came to life. Sarah had decided to drive to her father's place, although her father had disowned her, she had no choice but to stay with them.

Kiki stayed quiet at the back seat as her mother drove and spoke to herself. She did it a lot, especially when her mood was down but right now she was frustrated. Her phone began to ring... She had made it to the highway and managed to attain the same speed of other cars around her. It rang again, Sarah glanced at the caller id, it was John calling but she couldn't dare pick, it would hurt her pride. Her phone rang for the third time and as she went to grab it... Time stopped.
