Thomas had searched into who could've been responsible. Having tracked Missy to the beach then the gas station, he started with the cameras there to see if he could figure out who was following her. It had been 6 more hours and the Senator was calling every half hour for updates. They weren't helping, but Thomas wasn't about to stop him, since he would probably have been the same way in the Senator's position. He only had another 30 hours before they would hurt Missy, he didn't want her hurt at all, he wanted her home with her father, but the Senator had strict rules about terrorists...kidnappers included in that...he wouldn't pay the ransom...no matter how much it hurt him.
She tried not to let them know how terrified she was...she couldn't. They seemed to enjoy her crying before and she stopped as soon as she realized it. Why give them more joy than they deserve? The boss...she was guessing...his was the voice she heard most, came over to her and laughed as he touched her hair. "I hope your dad doesn't pay on time...give us some fun time with you." She cringed and heard him laugh louder. "Go ahead and cry, it's okay."
"No, sir, I don't have them yet, but I've got their car and I'm tracking it through the city." Thomas informs Senator Anderson hoping to help him calm down. "I'm right on their heels now." They hang up and he follows the kidnapper's car through the city and into the outskirts of the town. They went out of camera view and never reappeared on the next camera. "Okay... that leaves one block to check out the buildings on..." He nods relieved it was only one block and that they didn't go further where the cameras weren't even on the street lights. He calls a friend in the government and asks for a favor. "Hey, I need owner information for the buildings on this block. It's for Senator Anderson, his daughter was kidnapped. Yes, I've traced them to this area and they don't appear on the next camera." Thomas gets the help he needed and sighs knowing he can't get through everything before the deadline...unless he stayed up all night.
The deadline passed...Missy knew it had by the laughter and cheering coming closer to her. She couldn't tell whether they were cheering because they had the money or if... it was for other reasons. One of the men was dragging something...she couldn't tell what though. "Missy, we have some bad news for you. Daddy didn't pay us." They chuckled and she felt a hand on her leg. "So, we have to make you hurt." She heard the dragging stop and pain slammed into her stomach as she screamed in agony. Something hit her...hard...a bat? a crowbar? She coughed and winced as pain seared through her. She screamed again in agony as they slammed the weapon back down on her ribs. They continued to beat her with the weapon and didn't stop beating her until she passed out.
The Senator got sick as he watched the video. Thomas still hadn't seen it or found her... He sighed and called Thomas. He had to be told...maybe the video would give him some help. "Thomas..." "Sir, I haven't found her yet...but I'm not giving up." "Thomas... I got a video...they raised the ransom....and...Missy..." He cleared his throat. "I'll send you this video. It isn't pretty." The senator sent over the video and stayed on the phone while Thomas watched the video. "Oh no..." He sighed softly. "I'm sorry, sir. I'm closing in on her location as we speak. Did they...do anything else?" He asked concerned. The Senator sighed loudly and shook his head. "I don't know...but they cut the video out...only when we get her back will we know."
She groaned and started to wake up hearing a commotion, but unsure of what...she felt more air on her than before and paled knowing what they did to her. "Come on wake up....We have to get you out of here." She heard a voice and felt a jacket laid over her. "Come on Missy...your father needs you to wake up." Feeling arms lift her, they started out of the warehouse she was being kept in. They barely got out as someone notices she's gone. "HEY! WHERE IS SHE?!?" She opened her eyes even more and sees Thomas Blake? "Thomas?" She whispered and her eyes widened. She was being rescued. Finally.
