[[ The Letter to A 16 Year Old Veanokan Girl ]]

••∆∆••

Maeline, my sister,

I'm very very sorry for not writing back sooner. Work has been a mess, so many new people wanting so many paintings. I paint for a royal family. An old friend from school, she hired me to create paintings for her home. I'd completely forgotten she was a princess.

I'll admit it's cold down here. It's not a huge problem. Adeighl and the kids came with me obviously. Drea...she looks so much like her. Like my sister did. Our sister. I know you haven't seen her, she died years before you were born.

I'm in Fernia now. The cold is never a problem for me. The only one of us taking it badly is little Celine, but she only has a cold. I hope.

The snow is so pretty, Mae. I love it, it's much less soaking than the rain back home, and here? Here it never rains. I'm not a writer, I can't paint pictures in the mind like you do. But imagine. Solid rain. Solid but soft. Cold, white, sparkling. It's beautiful.

Tell Rewir and Erik I miss them and am sorry I haven't seen them since the wedding.

Ico amnorve ignorst, my sister. Maybe I'll see you again one day.
