Also this is another one of my old fanfics so read it if you want but please don't criticize my writing I know this isn't my best work.

I was so tired I was up late thinking like I always do. My mind could make such vivid stories and images in my mind it was cool to let them play out. I sat up and pushed aside my curtain getting off the bed. I looked around the room, I had a four poster bed with a canopy, a closet beside it, a nightstand, and a gorgeous soft silver rug under foot. I walked into my bathroom and looked in the mirror staring into my silver eyes, I did my skin care and hygiene routine then spent quite a while just brushing out my hair. It was naturally a brown purple colour plus really thick and naturally wavy so it was hard to brush. I grabbed a small black shirt and threw a black jumper over top. I put on some jeans and I put on a bit of lip gloss then went into the main room and grabbed my key necklace off the nightstand and slipped it around my neck. Then headed downstairs to eat. I was the black sheep in the family, well actually no. Sirius was the Black black sheep. But between my sisters I was the black sheep. Sirius was my best friend and my brother. We aren't related by blood because I was adopted after my parents died but he was the closest thing I had to a real family. I took a seat at the table. Mother and Father were sitting together and Cissy and Bella were gossiping, probably about Sirius. For the most part I was ignored, Sirius got in lots of trouble for talking back and saying things like 'muggleborns aren't beneath us'. I agreed with him but was smart enough not to say that to Mother and Father.
"Adrienne!" Sirius said snapping me out of my thoughts.
"What?"
"You take forever to get ready. The house elves are almost done making breakfast"
"Then I guess it was the perfect time to be done actually no waiting for food"
"Are you packed?"
I face palmed. How hadn't I planned this. I'm so dumb, wow how could I forget about the fact that I'm going to Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. So dumb, so so dumb. Sirius snapped his fingers. He often had to do that when I was thinking.
He knew I criticized myself a lot.
"Don't beat yourself up, after breakfast I'll help you pack. Since I woke up early I am already done."
I nodded gratefully and food magically appeared on our table. I begrudgingly added some blood pudding to my plate after my mother gave me a stern look. I added a Yorkshire pudding to my plate aswell. I slowly ate lost in thought. This time my daydream was of me being a snake and I was in the desert but there was ice encroaching on the sandy dunes. I watched as my own little movie played out in my head. Sirius snapped quietly, I think after all these years my brain is trained to stop thinking long enough for me to focus on the real world when I hear a snap.
I ate the rest of my breakfast then headed upstairs. Sitting on my bed was a cauldron cake, my favorite. It must have been from Risley the best house elf. Once done the little cake I gulped pulled out a small ornate box from under my bed. It said not to open until I was going to Hogwarts. I heard a knock on my door, "come in."
Sirius walked into my room and saw the box, "Are you finally going to open it?"
I nodded. I carefully undid the two latches and slipped my necklace off my neck. I have been carrying this key for as long as I can remember. My parents had given it to me and it was the key to this box. I cant remember my parents and have never seen their faces. Over the years it was so hard not to open up the box but I knew it was what my parents wanted so I waited. I pushed the key into the lock and turned it to the right. It clicked and I slowly opened the box. Sirius was looking over my shoulder keenly. He was just as curious to see what was in the box as me. Inside was a wand. I looked at it and it looked so perfect I thought that I shouldn't even take it out. After Sirius urging me though I picked it up.
"Now ready to pack?" He said.

"Not a clue..."
"Merlin, Adri you never plan?"
"Right sorry I just get--"
"So lost in your thoughts that you can't ? Yeah trust me I know. You've been doing it for eleven years "
"I haven't been doing it since the day I was born," I defended.
"You just dont remember it," he teased.
Sirius was always trying to help me stop being in my head all the time but he didnt know what it was like having voices in his head with very distinct personalities. I swear I have three different consciences but they all muddle up as one actual brain and one person.
I packed then we went to use the floor powder and head to Diagon Alley. I try not to think about the negatives of the Black family. They did take me in when my parents died even though they didn't have to. I tried to keep that in mind when father was strict and mother was snappy, though I still was Adri Carey because I wasn't born into the Black family so I wasn't allowed to be called a Black. Father barked at us telling us to go and hurry up. I said the words and appeared at Diagon Alley. I looked at my Hogwarts acceptance letter and we gathered our books and cauldrons and all that kind of stuff I don't think really mattered. Of course it matters or else we wouldn't have to get it stupid. I massaged my temples I swear I was actually insane but no one else noticed and I wasn't prepared to check myself into St. Mungo's so I left it alone. We were fitted for designer robes and then I followed Sirius to get his wand.
