Chapter 1 RUNRun. Run and don't look back. Not now, not ever. I dart through the tall Lonesome Forest as fast as I can. My body comes to a halt. I stop running and I listen for him. Nothing. All I hear is the trickle of water run down a small nearby creek. I force myself to turn around and see if he's there. He's not, all I see is the dark brown bark on the tall trees and a rabbit quickly scramble under a fallen oak. I feel relieved and sit down on an old stump. I look up and see soft rays of sun pierce through the dark green leaves of the trees. I pick up a small stone and hold it in my hand then I look at all of the details of it. One side of it is smooth and light gray. The other is rigid and a darker shade of gray. I throw it in the air and watch it come back down on a spot of dirt. It lands on an object and makes a clanking noise. I walk over to where the rock had fallen and move it to see what it landed on. I pick up the rock and toss it a side, I see the thing that was under it was a small dagger. The daggers tip was sharp and had rivets and it would easily cut through anything . The handle of it has Three gems on it. One red one blue and one green. I pick up the dagger and it fits perfectly into my hand, like it was meant for me. I standup, tightly grasp the dagger in my hand and Throw it at a tree. I walk over to the tree to retrieve the dagger. The dagger went through layers of the tree and made such a clean, perfect cut. It takes me a minute to pry the dagger out of the tree because it had gone so far deep into it. Once I get it out I dust off the bark from it. I tear a piece of string off of my shirt then tie onto the dagger and adjust it onto my belt loop. I walk for about Five minutes then I get to the small creek. The water runs off a few medium-sized rocks and into a small stream. The water is clean, cold and drinkable. I dip my hands into the cold water, cup them and then splash the water on my face. I hear sticks crack behind me. I take the dagger out of my belt loop, and place it in my hand. I brace myself for an attack. I turn around and start slicing with the dagger. But it wasn't him, it was only a large bullfrog trying to get into the creek. I pick it up,hold in my hand and then toss it into the water watching it use it's long legs to propel itself up the stream. It's starting to get dark out and I need to find shelter and food. I see some tree branches and an old rope,I can make it into something, I guess. I skan around the area I'm in looking for something to eat. I spot a small wild blueberry bush and Collect about 50 blueberries. I looked into the stream to see a few large fish. I'm not sure what kind of fish they are but they'll have to do. I toss in three blueberries to attract the fish. One goes for them and he's in close enough range for me to get. I make my move. I quickly Get my dagger and slice the fishes scalp. As dark red blood streams from the gash I pull the fish out of the water and clean it.
I skinned the gray and blue fish and collected all the good meat. I walk to the tree branches and rope and tried to make something with them. I propped up the branches and and tied them up with the old rope. I managed to weave I a basket out of old sticks, it wasn't a good basket at all but it did hold some of the blue berrys. I started a small fire to roast the fish. While the fish is roasting I picked up one of the blueberries and looked at it. It was blue and slightly green around the top and it was about 2 cm thick. I plopped into my mouth first it tasted bitter and then it started to sweeten. I ate about 15 more of the blueberries then checked on the fish. It was a little bit burnt but I didn't mind. My legs ached and I was tired and wanted to sleep. I scavenged some moss and used it as a pillow. I quickly fell asleep.Chapter 2 GIAVON
The next morning I arose to the sound out birds chirping about. I crawled out of the small shelter I made and stretched my tired arms and legs. I ate the remaining amount of the blueberries and drank some water from the creek. I started to think about him. Him. Giavon South. He's gone mad, from the war. Last year he kidnaped the only person In my life that had meaning to me. My big brother Vennin. He always protected me. I lived with him my whole life, since my mother abandoned us and my father died in the same war that Givion was in. Giavon and my dad were best friends. And when my dad was killed Giavon went insane and kidnaped Vennin. He did that because he needed that memory of my father. Vennin and I looked so alike. Dirty blonde hair, blue eyes and I birth mark on our left cheek. I'm 14 now. Vennin's birthday would have been last month he would be 19. He taut me everything that I know. Hunting, weaving and bird calling.
I tried to stop thinking about it because every time I did It haunted me. I looked around and saw I'm the distance, a figure. It was Giavon. I grabbed the dagger and put it into my belt loop. I then tore apart the shelter I made and decided to keep the old rope and wrapped it around my waist. I stomped out the still smoking fire and tried to cover my tracks. I began running west from Givion hoping to lose him. He never saw me but I still tried to leave as soon as possible. He was after me.
I ran as fast as I could. Dodging branches and snake holes slowed me down some but, I kept going.
I looked back and saw Giavon stairing at me. I ran even harder now. I heard the sound of rushing water and had to stop running. I was standing on the edge of cliff that dropped to a water fall. It was about 25 feet down and had rushing water. The water was crystal clear and there were rocks at the bottom. I looked around the water fall for a bride or fallen tree that could get me across to the other side of the cliff that was separated by a pool of water. There wasn't anything that could help me. I turned around and saw Giavon about 50 feet from me running towards me. I had to think quick. It's either I run, having the risk of him getting me. Or jump in to the pool of whirling water.
I remembered that Giavon can't swim. And now he's just feet away. I grab the dagger, place the handle in my mouth making sure not to cut myself and clench my teeth down on it. I walk towards to edge and look down. I holed my breath and jump down facing Giavon. As I fall I see him lean of the ledge looking at me. Then I get swallowed by the rushing water. My body gets tossed side to side like a rag doll. I hit my head on one of the rocks. Then I'm body surfaces. I grab my throbbing head and feel blood four from it. Then I notice that the dagger wasn't in clamped in my teeth. I needed to find it. It was my only way of protection. I dove under to water and searched frantically for it. I surfaced agian then I saw the gems glisten in the water. I went under agian and snatched it. I then attached it to my belt loop. The water was bone chilling. My teethe were chattering. I swam over to a rock that was just above the water, and through the dagger on it just in case I wouldn't lose it. Then I pulled myself up on the rock. I sit and take I break. I then look up at Giavon and yell "You can't get me from here!"
"Oh I'll find my way" he replied.CHAPTER 3
I looked around the Clift area and pool of water to see if there would be anything to help get me out. I noticed that on the other side of the clift there were some rocks that could get me out. Then I remembered that I have my old rope still wrapped around my waist. I swam over to the other side and pulled myself up onto a larger rock. There were rocks after rocks piled up on it and I could climb up it somehow. I had an idea to see if it would be stable for me to climb. I picked up a rock that was about 5 pounds then tied the old rope on it and with one hand through the rock at the piled rocks to see if they would fall. Only a few pebbles fell,I should be safe. I noticed that there were vines running all along the cliff .I grabbed onto one of the vines and it felt very sturdy. I then untied the rope from the rock I had thrown before.
I cautiously put some of my weight onto one of my feet and then put it on some of the rocks that were going up. The rocks stayed in place and supported my weight. I then put my other foot on and grabbed with both my hands on the vines running up the wall. I was still okay, then I started climbing. I looked back and I didn't see Giavon.
I Was now probably about 10 feet up from where I had started climbing, and had no worries.
