Mirror Love

"Come on Ash, wake up." Serena sighed as she shook Ash for the tenth time.

No response.

"Aaaassssshhh!" Serena called loudly.

No response.

"Fine. No breakfast today." Serena smirked as Ash stirred almost instantly.

"No breakfast?! NOO! I need my breakfast!!" Ash yelped as he rolled out of his bed and fell onto the floor. Tears came to his eyes.

"Come on Ash. Don't tear up." Serena said patiently.

Ash blinked away his tears, then stood up. "Y-You're right. Now I want my breakfast!!" With that, he ran out of his room faster than Serena could blink.

"Why do I still love that boy?" Serena asked herself as she picked up the covers now lying on the floor and put it back onto Ash's bed.

"Because you do. Come on, Sere, let's head down to breakfast before all the good foods are gone." Serena looked up and saw Cindy leaning on the doorframe.

"You're right. And I hope the boys remembered today is Valentine's Day."

"If you ask me, Kevin will probably have been prepared since June last year, and I have a feeling Ash might forget. That boy is an idiot sometimes."

"How about Gladion?"

"Maybe he'll forget, maybe not. That's why I love him. You can never be sure of what he's planning." Cindy chuckled slightly. "Seriously, Sere, come on! I'm hungry too!"

Serena's stomach rumbled. "Me too, and I'm fancying some waffles." The duo ran downstairs and into Ash, who started to tear up again.

"Ash. Don't cry." Cindy said firmly, and Ash blinked back tears again.

"Y-You're right. Come on. I'm hungry." Ash yelped, suddenly cheerful again as he dragged the two girls into the restaurant next door.

"You two sleepyheads are finally up." Gladion grinned, patting a seat next to him.

"Well, I was rousing Ash, and we were up way earlier than you!" Serena protested indignantly, and Cindy stole a waffle from her plate.

"HEY!" she exclaimed angrily. Cindy snickered and ate the waffle.

"Mmmmmm...good!" she responded happily.

"You know, I am going to kill you one of these days..." Serena muttered under her breath.

"Good to know my best friend wants to kill me." Cindy retorted sarcastically, reaching over to take another waffle, but Serena smacked her hand away.

"Sorry, you ain't stealing again."

"Rude." Cindy pouted.

"You were the one who stole my waffle." Serena retorted before quickly eating her waffles.

"Geez, never get in the way of Serena and her waffles." Ash whispered to Cindy.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Anyway, you know what day today is?" she asked her brother.

"No." Cindy shot him a deadpanned expression.

"Seriously?!" she shot back, clearly disappointed. Kevin must have heard Cindy because he perked up.

"By the look on your faces, I'm going to assume Ash forgot...again." he stated in a monotone voice.

"Forgot what?" Gladion asked, also confused. Kevin facepalmed at that one before standing up.

"Seriously, Gladion?! I expected that from Ash, not you!" he snapped at Gladion. Kevin then grabbed him and Ash, who was still eating, by the collar of their jackets and dragged them out of the restaurant.
