Till Death Do Us Part

Chapter 1

Moving down those creaky steps, a faint moan of a walker could be heard. Taking one of the axes from my black leather belt, I held it tight in my hand. The breaths of Chelsea could be heard behind me. As I reached the final step, I looked over the corner. Nothing. I stepped down. I looked back making sure everyone was doing fine. I hoped off the final step and heard the walker's footsteps coming closer. I  held up my hand to stop them from moving down the steps. The basement was a rusted metal color. Some of the paint was peeling off the walls and some of the ceiling was coming off.

Tightening my grip on the axe, I walk behind the walker. In a sudden motion, part of it's head was split in two. Blood gushed from the fresh wound, some of which spewed on the ceiling. The walker fell to its knees and then ate the bloody carpet. I whistle for them to come down the stairs.

I pull my long dark red hair into a loose ponytail. "Alright! We camp here for tonight and then leave near the afternoon." I pull a water bottle, half empty. I hand it to my 7 year old brother, Jonathan. "Pass it around, buddy." I ruffle his hair before looking around the area. There was what looked to be a bookcase and a medium size fridge. "Chelsea, mind helping me move these to the entrance?" I start walking over to the bookcase. "Not all." She got up from where she was sitting and walked over to the bookcase as well.

Pushing the bookcase over to the entrance we hear the door bust open. "Walkers can't open that door..." I mumble. Chelsea and I hurried to move the fridge in front of the bookcase. Chelsea took out her pistol which at the bottom had a sharp dagger taped to it. "Look for anything that is valuable." One of the voices from upstairs said. More footsteps could be heard. " There's 3 of them..." I whispered. "They must be camping around here or something." Chelsea whispered back.

We heard those creaky basement steps again... they're coming down.
