I heard them stop at the last step. "Hey, the basements blocked off." A female voice yelled. Three more people from what it sounded like entered the house. Some of the footsteps were leading down to the basement, where we are at. "Be careful down there, who knows what's hiding behind that bookcase..." Another female voice said from the top of the stairs. "More and likely walkers..." A deep male voice called out.

Chelsea and I pushed on the fridge so it would be harder for them to push the bookcase back. I glanced back at Jonathan and Alayne, which they were huddled together. As soon as I didn't hear footsteps, they started pushing on the bookcase. Chelsea pushed back harder and I did as well.

"Chelsea, if they continue it'll fall back on us." I gave her a concerned look. "Then we'll just fall back and protect the kids..." She returned the look. I hesitated but slowly nodded. They continued to lush and push. "One..." Chelsea muttered. "Two..." I muttered back. "Three." She whispered loudly and we both stepped back. We ran towards Jonathan and Alayne. I grabbed Jonathan and ran to the other side of the room. Chelsea followed behind my footsteps, we both put them in the corner.

We stood back up and I took out both of my axes. Chelsea pointed her pistol at the entrance. Jonathan had tears welling in his eyes as he clinged to Alayne, the 13 year old. The bookcase tumbled over first, then next the fridge. "Keep your stance." I grunted quietly. 2 people came in, looking the opposite direction of us. A girl and a korean guy, what seemed like.

"Clear of he-" He said before looking over at us. My eyes narrowed at him and the girl. He looked to see the two children in the corner. "Abraham, we have people down here..." He shouted but it trailed off. I heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and I stepped forward a bit. The girl, of course, pulled out her gun. Chelsea aimed her pistol at her and cocked it.
