Chapter 10

Sensei Kai's p.o.v

A year passes and the guys hold strong. They held out better than we did. When Zane 'died' we broke apart. These ninjas have stayed together. I train them alongside the two sensei's. I'm in the courtyard of father's monastery, meditating. Footsteps come behind me, father sits beside me. "Do you know where the ninja are." He asks. Grabbing my bo staff, I stand. Walking away to the archway, I turn back to hem. "You coming, father." He gets up, meeting me. At the pier, we hitch a ride on the barge. Clouse looks at me, I glare.

Going to the back, I see Neuro, Griffin and Shade talking. "Are you the master of form, I know she's here." Neuro said. "Read my mind and see." I said, lowering the shield I have. He probs my mind, reeling back as my memories hit hem.

"Why are you here." Neuro said. "Why come if he did all that to you." "To move on in life, you must face your demons. Since mine are in the cursed realm, I have to settle for these ones." I see Clouse trying to ease drop. With my light magic, I place a silencer around us as I walked up. "He's creepy." Shade says. "Yes, Clouse is, but be wary, he'll stab you in the back." I say. Griffin nods "so, what do we call you, so not to get mixed." "Sensei Kai. I had to quit being a ninja cause of what Chen did to me." I tell them, they nod. "Friends." Shade says, holding his hand out. Neuro and Griffin lay theirs on top, I rest mine on top as well.

Coming to the island, the guys are taken to their rooms. I'm cornered by Chen and Clouse, Chen grabs my arm. I'm lead to Clouse's magic room. Shoved inside, I fall due to stumbling. Using my staff, I get back up as Chen stands before me. "You are Kai from a different realm. A sensei, I'm going to assume." He said. "What of it, like you care, bitch." Chen slaps me, I fall back having been shifting my feet. Spitting blood on the carpet, I stand back up. "Not the worst you've done." I said. He cocks a brow, a grin on his face.

"So, I did this, I should thank hem." "You can, in the cursed realm." I say. Clouse shoots a black magic ball at me, I counter with my light magic. "Try me, bitch. I've trained for this reason." I say. Pushing passed them, I leave. Father looks at me as I walk into Lloyd's room. Slumping in the chair, Lloyd hands me a rag. Laying it on my face, father rubs my shoulder. "They know I'm from an alternate universe. Chen knows he did this to me. I should have stayed home." I said. The next day, I stay in the room, the matches are starting. Getting up from the chair, I head to the bathroom. Walking in, letting the tub fill, I begin to undress. Now with nothing on, I look in the full mirror. A shadow crosses the door, I wrip around to see Chen. "My, my. He did a number on you." I form a fireball, aiming at Chen. "I no longer fear you." I said. Chen grins, walking in. Grabbing a towel, I think he'll do something. He unfolds it, wrapping it around my waist. "I may be evil, but, I would do this to a kid. How old were you." He asks, shutting the water off. "Six...sixteen. You had me for seven months, tourchoring me none stop. Only getting two hours between what was some times sixteen hours of torchor." I unwrap the towel, slipping into the water. Wrenching as the warmth hits the scars, I get use to it. "My brothers found me." I pause as Chen settles behind me. He pulls the tie out my hair, my midback hair falling into his lap. Taking a comb, he runs it through my hair.

"What did they do to my counterpart." Chen asks. My fire is warm, it's buzzing with joy as Chen combs my hair, he's nothing like my Chen. Leaning back, I lay my head in his lap. "How do you know I won't string you up. Burn, beat and do what he did to you." Chen said as he divides my hair. "My fire, it tells me if a person is friend or foe." I said, closing my eyes. Chen hums, pulling the right half over my shoulder. "How so." He asks, starting to braid it french braid style. "If a person as a foe, my fire goes cold as Zane's ice. If friendly, like you are right now, it's a warm, buzzing under my skin." I say, Chen nodding. He ties the braid at the base of my neck, starting the other.

"What did your brothers do when they found you." Chen asked. "At first, they were shocked. Cole went up to me and wrapped his gi jacket around my waist. Lloyd cut the chains and Cole broke the manacles. Jay was the third person but was throwing up outside, weak stomach. Cole carried me back, Zane had to coach hem on how to dress the wounds." Chen holds the braid, taking the other out the tie and merges the two. "The next day, Cole bathed me and dressed me, he did it for eight months. I had fell into a catatonic state. On the morning after Cole broke down, I finally came too. The guys were overjoyed. Sadly, I had to quit being a ninja cause of what Chen did. I only have fourty-eight percent of movement in my joints." Chen finishes, tying the single braid. "That is why you became a sensei." He asks, grabbing a rag. Chen suds it up and I lean forward as he washes my back. His touch is gentle, mindful of the scar tissue and burn/brand scars.

"I wanted to be useful. The wounds had healed as best they could. So, I went to Wu and Garmadon. They actually wanted to ask me and by me asking them.." "it have them their answer." Chen said, handing me the rag. He grabs a cup, dipping it into the water and rinses my back off as I wash the rest. "What is the outcome if I continue down the road I'm on." Chen asks. I hum, could I possibly save Chen. "If you continue, you'll end up in the cursed realm." I said. Chen nods, he finishes. "I'll keep it in mind." Chen said as he leaves. Stopping at the door, he looks back "Keep between us." Chen says, the look in his eyes is pure remorse. I nod and finish up washing.

Getting out, wrapping the towel around my waist, I walk out. Pulling on a set of clothes, I pull my coat on and grab my staff. Walking out, I never see the hit coming. Ash is above me, he kicks my staff away. "Get up, master of fire." He growls. I remember Ash hated me. Dragging myself to the rails, he kicks my hip. I cry out as white hot agony erupts in them. Ash smirks, jacking me up and he holds me over the rails. "Good bye, fire bender." He let's go and I fall. I fall two floors before black magic surrounds me. Clouse is on the ground floor, Chen beside hem. Clouse lowers me, Chen walks over, offering his shoulder. I lean heavy on hem, my legs are killing me.

All the masters saw what Ash did, Cole and father hold hem as they walk in. "Why did you attack sensei Kai. What did he do to you." Lloyd snarls. "I saw Chen coming out of your room, he.." Ash spats at me. "Came out soon after." Jay hands my staff. Going to Ash, I grasp his chin. "Want to know why." I say in a tone that sends shivers into even Lord Garmadon. "I'm from an alternate universe where his counterpart." I point my staff at Chen. "Torchered me for seven months straight. The only relief I got, was at most two hours. I would be cut, wripped, burned. My shoulders, eldows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles would repeatedly be popped out only to be popped back in." I explain. Looking at the ones gathered, many look ready to throw up. "Yes, it's true that Chen came to the room, I had a little chit chat about what his counterpart did. I told hem what the outcome would have been if he continued down the path has on." Ash breaks free, grabbing my shirt "Your lying." He rips the shirt and coat off. "Who's laughing...now.....holy shit." Ash goes wide eye as all see the scars I bear.

My arm joints forever bear bruises, the scar tissue around my wrists tight. My neck down is covered in brands, cut scars (some still open), red lashes that sting in the air. I hold my head head high, not afraid to show what has been done to me. The pain and suffering I've been through, it has made me who I am.

Who am I, you ask

I am Kai Smith Garmadon. Son of sensei Garmadon and Misako. Nephew to sensei Wu. Brother of Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon. Sensei to my ninja.

Who am I. I am Kai, and I have nothing left to fear.
