Hi, my name is Annabelle Shaffer and I am the protagonist of this high school drama. Now, this may be my first appearance but you will see more of me because I am going to star in a couple of short stories with my friends. Let me introduce them to you... My best friend ever has been with me since kindergarten, his name is Andrew Millers and he is the founder and president of the 'Sports-R-Us' club. He is also the President of our school's student council. He is about five foot seven with a head of red hair that is an inch of his height. His blue eyes and wacky style has helped him become the most rated to be a ladies man. Now number two on the friend's list is Pam Jonas, and she is so talented. She juggles art, choir, creative writing, and student council (VP). Now this four foot ten, long-haired brunette is by far the most talkative girl around. And she has such an intimidating stare from behind her glasses. Trust me those brown eyes tell a story. Dylan Davis, the boy of my dreams. He's my crush. The fact that I am even friends with him makes my heart flutter. I just gape at his short black hair combined with the height of seven foot two. I blush as he looks at me with his brown eyes framed by glasses. He is an aspiring artist and loves the guitar. He is the Vice President of the photography club and is the treasurer of the student council. With his height, he is a star player on the basketball team and has a few medals from track and field. He is also in the mathlete club with me. Now I mentioned all of their clubs and sports, here are mine. I am the president of the photography club, I am on the mathlete team, I am in the choir, and I can't wait for the fall dance to start getting planned with the student council (I am the secretary).
Anyways, this all started a couple of months ago when school started. It had been all summer since I had seen the boys and Pam because I went to New York to Visit my Grannie and ended up staying there all summer. I was ecstatic to start my sophomore year with my friends. We had so many plans. We planned on staying in the student council and keeping our record of most times elected. We even planned to go to the winter formal as a group of four just like last year. But, things started to change fast. While I was away Dylan's parents got a divorce because his little sister was killed in a car crash. The car crash was caused by his dad's drinking after one of Emma's ballet recitals (That's his little sister). According to Andrew, Dylan shut himself up in his room for most of the summer and I had no idea. I had sent postcards of my weekly adventures to each of my buddies not knowing what had been going on. All I know is that Pam, Andrew, and Dylan all responded to them, none of them hinting at Dylan's distress. I had a lot of fun and didn't feel like I was boasting because all of my friends have had adventures without me as much as I did without them. When school started I expected things to roll back to normal, oh boy was I wrong.
After the first week of school Andrew finally told me about Dylan's parents and his little sis. Pam looked pale all week and went straight home while Andrew and I snuck over to check on Dylan.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I whispered
"Oh come on you know I am the 'King of Great ideas' and we've been over to his house like a million times already," Andrew said with a twinkle in his eye.
