I wake up to the sound of a bird tapping on my bedroom window. It's Friday morning. My heart soars immediately and I jump out of bed. Golden sunlight pours into my bedroom; it really is so representative of the way I've been feeling lately. The eight of us have been getting on so splendidly after Monday night, and I never imagined how casually fun it would be to have so many friends living right in my vicinity.
Even Irene and Zenon have managed to open up to us more, which is fortunate because Zenon is as fun as Irene is caring and protective. We've been able to hold off any rude MageTown students, at least to the best of my knowledge, although I'm not entirely sure. Sometimes, a simple compliment my way will leave Clementine and Irene in shocked fits of rage, and Lawrence and Rocky, on the ground in tears. Speaking of which, Lawrence has turned out to be more of a task to handle than any of us could have anticipated, but that's alright if you ask me.
I open the door of my bedroom to find that Clementine is already up and dressed in her uniform. She's setting pancakes on the table. I inhale the scent and skip toward the living room, pulling back the curtains to reveal the balcony, which we've adorned with plants of every color.
"Pancakes before an eight o' clock class?" I laugh, "Looks like someone woke up before the rooster."
"I still can't believe they have an actual rooster to wake us up." she comments, taking the syrup out of the fridge.
I stare at her for a moment.
"What?"
"Huh? Nothing, it's just, your uniform looks so good on you. How do you do it?"
She stands up and looks down at her black and maroon blouse, blazer and skirt which adorn her curvy body perfectly.
"It's just, when I wear mine, I look like a homeless person."
"Well, maybe you got yours a size too big? Don't worry, we'll get it sized tomorrow when we go shopping." she winks, reminding me of our exciting plans.
"Question." I hear the drawl that belongs to Zenon, as he strolls into our apartment, holding a coat in either hand, "The beige or the grey? Which one makes me look intelligent, but not as if I'm trying to challenge Professor Aurbach, which he likes to believe I'm doing. The man's got no analysis of stories that are greater than small towns."
