Chapter 62
"Mrs. Soon-to-be-Jackson, wake up! I want to see those beautiful eyes." Michael chirps happily.
I groan and turn the other way, on my side.
A woman needs her sleep.
A pregnant woman, especially.
"Sweetheart come on. Time to start the day," He says.
I groan louder, hiding my face in the pillows, hoping he'll get the hint.
I'm tired!
"Stubborn, but that's why I love you."
He turns my body around and kisses me, over and over.
"Michaellll," I groan, not being able to control the expanding smile invading my features.
"What? I know you love my lovely kisses of love."
I burst out in sheer laughter and plant a lingering kiss on his smooth cheek.
"Okay, now you're just being goofy."
He nuzzles his face gently into my neck. "You know, I live to hear that perfect laugh," he whispers.
My cheeks redden and I sigh. "How did I get so lucky?"
He grins while bringing my hand up to his mouth, and peppering it with sweet kisses.
"It's time to start the day," He says.
"Hmm, ten minutes," I mutter.
"Alondra, sweetheart you have slept enough. Get up for me. Please?" I dare take a glance up at him and he's pouting.
That perfect face always makes me give in to anything he wants.
"Okay, okay."
"Yay!-"
"But! One condition," I interrupt with a mischievous smile.
"Oh no, what is it? Lay it on me."
"You have to cook breakfast!"
Michael fakes a disappointed look and sighs dramatically.
"Scrambled or sunny-side-up?"
"Surprise me," I giggle, finally getting up and stretching out my muscles.
"Alrighty, I'll try my best to cook for my wife."
I beam at him. "Almost wife."
He walks up to me and laces his arms around my hips.
"As far as I'm concerned, you've always been my wife. Now, it's official, because of the ring and the title."
He kisses my temple, and then my stomach.
"You're the sweetest." I breathe.
Reluctantly, I unlatch myself from him and walk into the bathroom while Michael heads to make us breakfast.
I step into the bathroom and gaze at myself in the mirror.
This is me. A twenty year-old, four months pregnant, engaged, woman.
And most importantly, I'm happy. And I'm loved.
I have the most ridiculous smile across my face as I freshen up.
My life is exactly where I want it to be. Ultimately because of him.
--
I descend down the stairs happily while side-braiding my still-wet hair.
