Chapter 1

*~First person POV~*

  I didn't really have anything to do but then I remembered the café. So I walked into town to buy coffee there.

  There weren't a lot of mobians there since it's early in the morning. I got my coffee and sat at a table near a window.

  As I drank the coffee I was surprised to see a flier on the window. I was sure it wasn't there before, but then I saw a blue trail of light pass by so I figured that someone just put it there.

  The flier says "Hiring a Sidekick: All participants can qualify". Maybe I could work there. I read the location after I finished my coffee, which was really delicious. Then I walked to the location of the auditions.

  There were plenty of mobians in line. There was some creepy guy in a brown cloak in front of me. The line got smaller and then it was my turn. It took about 5 minutes until he got to the last question.

  "What would you do in a no-win situation?" asked the blue hedgehog. "That's a simple question" I whispered under my breath.

  "There is no such thing as a no-win situation, if you feel like your losing I recommend to calm yourself down and think the situation through." I calmly said.

  "You sure know a lot newbie." he commented, "You might actually be able to be my sidekick."

  Then he smiled, "My name is Sonic by the way."

"(Y/n)." I smiled back.

  Just then, Omelet head came in. "I'm here to audition as a Sidekick." he then started laughing.

  "EGGMAN!" Both Sonic and I jumped in surprise.

  "Your not going to be my sidekick." Sonic stated.

  " 'All participants can qualify.' " Eggman took out the sidekick flier I found at the café window and pointed at the place he said. It definitely says 'All participants can qualify.'

  I turned to look at Sonic and put my hands on my hips, "You might have at least checked what you wrote." I shook my head in disbelief.

  Eggman turned to me, "Oh hello (Y/n)." he extended his hand out for me to shake.

  "It's about time you finally noticed me." I answered as I lowered is hand down.

  "Wait- you know him?!" Sonic asked. I stared at him for awhile, "Why wouldn't I? I always head to town and see a giant robot with some dumb name-"

  "MY ROBOTS DON'T HAVE DUMB NAMES!" he told me in an angry temper.

  "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say Doc." I joked. I turned my head to Sonic and waited for his answer to the mess he got into.

  "Maybe you 4 could compete to become sidekick." Sonic stated.

  Why is he so dumb? We all know what's gonna happen. Eggman is gonna get out his robots and make himself win! I said in my head. Then I realized something.

  "Wait what do you mean about 'you 4'?" I asked. Sonic pointed at the creepy guy, "He also got all the questions right."

  "Who else is there?" The creepy guy asked. "Well uh-" but then Sonic was interrupted. "Actually, do you validate parking?" asked a beaver at the door.

"Congratulations! You're the 4th candidate."

  Wait wha-

  "Actually-"

  The race took place on top of a hill, us 4 were lined up next to each other on our own hoverboards. The competition was surprisingly a hoverboard race.
