"Rebecca, get back here, now!"
My mother is yelling at me, angry, for no reason. I know that no matter what I do I will be hurt, so I continue to run.
I run as far fast and far as I can. After some time, my lungs start to burn. But I keep going.
"HELP!" I yell, in hopes somebody will look back at this scene.
"Rebecca Morris. Get back here now! You're causing a scene!" My mom yells, clearly out of breath.
I don't care that I'm causing a scene. In fact, I'm GLAD I'm causing a scene. My mom has been abusing me for months.
It wasn't always like this though. When I was little, she used to sing songs and read funny stories to me. As I got older, mom get meaner. Now it's gotten physical.
I'm brought out of my thoughts by someone asking me what's going on. I turn my head behind me, expecting to see my mom standing there, but she's out of sight.
"Please, Help me." Is all I manage before I collapse on the cold concrete.
