Valentines Day

Lena- 

It was seven o'clock and Stef was suppose to have picked me up for our date, we have only been dating for a month and a half, but this day was particularly special being our first Valentines together as a couple and being the romantic I wanted to enjoy that time with her. In another week or so she and Mike her ex husbands divorce will be final. When we first met she and her partner of the police force were making an arrest in one of the apartments in my complex. One of the occupants husband was hitting her and one of the neighbors called the police when they heard her screaming out. The following day they called a majority of us to question  regards to the husband and wife incident, so it will make this case go quickly and smoothly, we were being questioned by the same two officers that were involved in the case, and my luck Stef just happened to  be the one to question me. 

Flashback

So tell me Mrs, she asked. It's Ms Adams, but you can call me Lena, I said. Okay Lena, I'm Officer Stef Foster, did you see or hear anything that was going on with your neighbors in question, the fighting physically or verbally, she asked? No, nothing, I hear arguing but I couldn't tell you on whether it was coming from their apartment officer, I said.  I mean I rarely see them and when I do they're never together, I said. Okay, but nothing made you feel a little suspicious, she asked? About? I asked? The fact that he looks a little rough around the edges, that's not enough to call the police, I said. So when you heard arguing  did you hear any specifics, she asked? Again I couldn't tell you on whether it was them that were doing the arguing, and I couldn't say what was said, just screaming back and forth, and I live three doors down from them, I said. Okay Ms Adams, I mean Lena, if you have anymore information that will help this case please don't hesitate to give me a call, she said handing me her card. I won't hesitate, so is this all, I asked? Yes thank you, she said. About a week from that date, the same people were called back in to sign their statements. Thank you for coming back down Lena, she said. No problem just trying to do my civic duty, I said. Appreciate it, so if you would look over the statement you gave and sign down at the bottom, she said. Looking it over, I signed down on the bottom as requested and placed it in her hand, as I was getting ready t leave. Lena um, she began. Yes, I said. Umm I'm off in another hour, was wondering if you would like to join me for coffee, she asked? I'd love to, I said

Flashback Ends

Thinking back to that wonderful day and week of meeting the most beautiful woman I had ever met in my entire life. Coming back from that moment, I still was wondering what was causing Stef to be late picking me up even though our reservations was at seven thirty, normally she would call if she was going to be running late. As I grabbed a hold of my phone ready to place a call to the station, I hear a knock on the front door. Making my way to the door and opening it, a smile washed over my face to see her standing there in a black pants suit and holding a bouquet of flowers. Sorry I'm late, had paper work to do regarding an arrest, and you look beautiful by the way, she said as she handed me the flowers. Thank you, so do you, I said, as I watched her walk past me into the apartment. I guess we won't be able to make our reservation huh, she asked. I don't think so, it was at seven thirty and it's already past eight, I said. And I'm sure everything is pretty booked up, since it is Valentines Day, I said. I'm sorry Lena it was unavoidable, she said pleadingly. I know, I said. So what did you want to do, we can order out and watch a movie on netflix, she said. Stef I don't care what we do, as long as we do it together, this is our first Valentines together, I said. I know, and I don't care what we do either as long as I get to spend this time with you too, she said. Okay what do you say I go in the kitchen and pull out my to go menus and we can decide on what it is we would be eating tonight, I said. Sounds like a plan love, I'll wait for you to return my lady, she said laughing. as she bowed at my feet. As I walked out shaking my head at her silliness.  

Stef-

While I was at work and thinking about this wonderful occasion Lena and I had planned, me and my partner received a domestic disturbance call across town, a man beating up on his girlfriend, and already being half past five I knew there was know chance that I was going to be able to book him, do the paper work which could take up to an hour and then get home, shower and dressed and be at Lena's by seven, and I really felt bad about it. As I had finally made it home, showered and dressed and making one stop, I got to Lena's after eight, full of guilt that I knew we lost our reservations at one of the most swankest restaurants in town that she wanted to go to, and the last thing I wanted to do was disappoint her, but it just couldn't be helped. Okay Ms Foster, I have several menus what will it be Chinese, Japenese, Italian, Mexican or sea food, so what is your pleasure, she asked? You are my pleasure, Ms Adams, why don't you decide, tonight is all about you, I said. Happy Valentines Day Stef, she said. Happy Valentines Day Lena, I said as I planted my lips on hers.
