Flint's POV:
I ran down the hall to catch up to Lady Jaye so I could know why she took the mission personal.

"Ali, Ali, Ali wait up!" I yelled as I was running after her as I was panting.

"what do you want Flint?" Lady Jaye snapped at me as she pulled away.

"I want to know why you looked like you just got back from a funeral." I asked in a softer tone.

"Flint, come with me to my quarters." Lady Jaye said sadly as she motioned me to walk with her to her room.

as we walked to her room, she got out what looked like a pair of pointe shoes and a picture of herself but younger and on stage wearing a ballet costume with her hair in a bun and a silver crown.

"Ali, is that you?" I gasped as I saw the picture of my young girlfriend.

"Yes, and before I was part of GI Joe, I wanted to be a ballerina because when I was little, I was an energetic kid bouncing off the walls and my mom used to call me her little monkey." Ali chuckled as we both sat back down on her bed.

"I was so energetic that my mom signed me up for things to keep me moving like acting, tennis, gymnastics, ice skating, karate, swimming, Tap, Jazz, and ballet." my girlfriend said as she listed off the activities.

"the only thing that made me happy the most was doing ballet and it was the only thing that brought me happiness." Ali sighed dreamily as she did a pirouette. not going to lie, she was really good.

"I even met one of my best friends in ballet named Giselle Dvorak and she's now a famous choreographer." my girlfriend admitted as she did fourth position.

"do you guys still talk?" I asked as she was stretching.

"yeah, sometimes." Ali admitted.

"anyways, I kept on taking ballet until High school and this was during the middle of my senior year, so at the beginning of December
I played one of the snowflakes in act 1 for the nutcracker and for one part of act 1, I lost my balance and I twisted my ankle." Ali sniffed as her voice was shaking.

"the next moment I wake up in the hospital and the doctors tell me and my parents that I would need surgery on my ankle." Ali cried softly as I gave her a hug.

"after my surgery I had to spend most of December in and out of Physical therapy so I could recover faster and when I recovered, I swore on my life that I would never go back to ballet again." Ali admitted as she got the tissue that I offered her.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you Ali." I sighed sadly at her as I continued to rub her back.

"it's fine and it's just that I'm nervous about this mission that's all." Ali groaned as she laid back on her bed.

"Ali cat, you aren't the only one I'm nervous too about this mission but no matter what I will always be by your side and we'll even train together too." I advised to my girlfriend as I took her hand.

"You know what? You're right Dash, we got this and we're GI Joes!" Ali smiled as we walked out of her quarters.

"YO JOE!" we both yelled as we started to prepare for training before we were sent off to New York.
