Abriella woke up grumbling about Luciana attitude at the ball.

➡How dare she say that to me
Even at my own ball.
Abriella stabbed at the keyboards on her laptop.

Were you really kissing ⬅
Anerudo at the balcony.

➡More like he was kissing
Me.

I told you she had eyes⬅
For him.

➡Well i ain't the one that
Made him not to like her.

You know, i think it was⬅
All the alcohol she drank
That spoke for her.

➡Well it doesn't change that
I'm super annoyed with her.
I really hate her now.
Abriella relaxed her back on the chair and picked up a glass cup by the side of the laptop gulping down the drink before a knock at the door interrupted her.

➡That's by the corner now. (The knocks resumed on the door down the living room.) Someone's at my door, so later?

'Where the hell is Melina.' She murmured as she shut down the laptop and slammed it close. She descended down from the stairs with smile on her face and threw the door open.

A tall man stood at the doorstep and Abriella's vision began blur, it couldn't be but it was, and she swayed against the door jamb as she recognised the unmistakable glitter of Stephan's eyes.

"Good morning." He said at last.

Sighs. "Stephen what are you doing here."

"Come to give you your monthly dose. May i come in." He said cooly and she realized she was still collapsed against the door jamb.

"Oh." She drew herself up. She did not turn until he stepped inside and closed the doors.

"I remembered i called and asked you to come, but you insisted on friday." He paused to place his box on the table. "And alas i didn't see you."

She folded her arms watching him subtract something with the string and it got filled up with a brownish liquid. He smacked the injection using his thumb and his middle finger.

"I need some money for your drugs." He said but she didn't respond then stood up. He pulled out some cutton wool and dipped it into some colorless liquid of some kind before rubbing it at the back of her palm. It smelt of antiseptic.

He threw the used cotton back on the table and looked at her for reassurance that he could ho on but her eyes were closed as she bit into her lower lip. "Ah." She sighed as she felt the sharp pain of the syringe penetrate her skin.

"Sorry if that hurt." He dropped the empty injection on the floor. "Don't forget to put them in the bin. You wouldn't want people to know that you're sick." He bent closer and pressed his lips to her left cheeck. "See you soon." He said and left.

"Mrs William." At the sound of her name she opened her eyes only just to see herself still lieing on the hospital bed. She looked up and saw the pale eyes of a man with grey black hair over his face making her to jump a little. "Are you with me?"

"Ah." Her breath was soar.

He held her shoulder.

"Don't try stressing yourself. You need to rest."

She had laid for quite sometime and her world seemed to swirl slowly around her. The cold air settling into her flesh, she sensed she had reached the end of her journey. She tried sitting up but it felt impossible; the emptiness of her life had seized her like a strong hand, pushing her back down.

Mrs William grief turned into panic her breath slowly began to leave her and the beeping of the machine increased it pace, faster and faster. Total blackness spread across her vision and she felt her self float upward from the bed. The scalding agony in her lungs gave away to a strange lightness and at a dying breath she whispered 'Abriella.'

Abriella walked out of the door and the cold night breeze seemed to be harsh against her body. She wore Anerudo's suit jacket as a protection from the cold which tried to sneak up on her.

"Thank you." She muffled out.

"For what." He wrapped one hand over her shoulders and she inhaled sharply.

"For looking after me."

"It's nothing. That's what friends are for."

"Mmm." She tottered toward his car and placed her hand on the wind screen. "But where is she?" She stared deep at her reflection in the clean glass. A tear fell from her eye and slid down the glass, ontop of her heels and down the floor.

"Who?" He looked quite confused.

"Anerudo where is my mom." Her tears made her whisper. She looked at him, tears welled in her eyes and her mouth trembling as she tried to hold in the pain.

Anerudo rubbed his palm over his face and moved closer to her. "Look Abriella..." the air felt heavy, humid and as it pressed in close, he sniffled it. 'Looks like it'll rain.' He thought and immediately droplets of water fell from the sky and onto his skin thunder rumbled in a distance. "Abriella let's get into the car first." His voice is calm and low.

"Please." She released her hand from his grip and stumbled backward. "Where's my mom?"

"Abriella let me take you home first and maybe I'll tell you." Anerudo pleaded but she shook her head, misery showing in her red rimmed eyes.

Abriella got home completely drenched. She opened the door and sat down on the sofa with a solemn expression.
Telephone rings
"Hello?....alright I'll give it to her." Melina walked down the stairs. "Ma'am someone wants to speak to you."

The conversation ended with Abriella sleeping while the call was still on.

"Hello? Hellooo? Hello? Ma'am?...."

Anerudo laid on his back staring at the ceiling. He couldn't stop his mind from traveling back to the horror that flashed in Abriella's eyes as she saw her mom's lifeless corpse. He felt her pain, it washed through him. Her whimpers shook his body. He heard her tears, everyone of them, as they spilled onto her mom's clothing. "You can't be dead," she cried "you can't be dead." Anerudo shut his eyes against the memory. Hr couldn't take it.

Her mother's sudden death was a heart break.
