"Get your ass up out of bed! It's the first day of university and I doubt you want to be late." My brother Chase said while pulling my blankets off me. He knew that was the only way to get me up. "Ok I'm up! Chill out Chase." I replied trying to grab my blankets off him but he just stepped backwards. "You're not up. You're still lying in bed." He said, acting smart. I rolled my eyes at him. "If you don't give me back my blankets, I will murder you and make it look like a suicide." I said, hoping he would give me the blankets back, but of course he didn't. He just stood there with a huge grin plastered on his face. I took a deep breath and got up off the bed and started walking towards him with an evil look in my eyes and he turned around and ran out of the room and downstairs with the blankets, laughing. I wasn't going to waste my energy running after him, so I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower and brushed my teeth and hair. I walked back into my bedroom and found that my blankets had returned to my bad. I went over to my wardrobe and pulled out a red t-shirt with black, baggy trousers and my red hoody and red converse. I quickly got changed and grabbed my phone and slipped it into my pocket and picked up my backpack and flung it on my back as I made my way downstairs, to be greeted by the smell of bacon and sausages. I sat my backpack on the floor and made my way into the kitchen where Chase was sitting at the table, eating his breakfast and a plate opposite him. "Smells and looks good Chase. You have redeemed yourself after stealing my blankets on me." I said as he chuckled. Chase was handsome, but surprisingly, he didn't have many girlfriends in the past. He had short brown hair and usually had it spiked up and brown eyes. He was muscular which had some of my friends drool over him. Chase got his law degree and became a lawyer. His hours aren't that long and he gets good pay so we live in one of the biggest houses in the neighbourhood. I have lived with Chase since I was 4 years old when my parent died in a car accident. He's lookd after me and raised me. Not only is he my brother, he's my best friend and I can tell him everyone, knowing he won't judge me.

When we finished breakfast, I helped him wash the plates and grabbed my backpack as he grabbed his car keys and we made our way to the car. Chase would give me a ride to school on his way to work and I was always on time because he started work at 9am so we left the house at 8.15 and I was in school by 8.45. As soon I reached the school, I seen Natalie, my best friend and she shrieked as she ran towards me and embraced me in a hug. "It's been so long Rachel. I missed you!" She said, pulling out of the hug. "It's been 3 weeks Nat." I stated as I giggled and she joined in. Natalie was always dramatic about everything. Natalie had black hair and brown eyes and she was in good shape. She always had guys drooling over her, and even a few girls. She was popular and got along with everyone. After a while of catching up, the bell rang as we made our way to the main office to collect our timetables. Me and Natalie were in different classes except art. We looked through our timetables. "I have English Literature first." I said as we started walking away from the crowds of people, waiting to get their timetables. "I have Drama now." Natalie said while grinning. She loved drama. It was her favourite subject. "I'll see you at lunch Nat." I said as we waved to eachother. "See you at lunch Rach." She called back and I made my way to English Literature.

I looked at the initials of my English Literature teacher. ES. I can't recall any English Literature teachers with those initials, so he or she must be new. When I reached the classroom, I walked in realising I was the first person there so I quickly choose a seat at the back of the classroom and took my seat, waiting for the other students to arrive. A few minutes later, 5 students came in and chose their seats and sat down, waiting for teacher to arrive. A few of them started talking among themselves as the rest of us sat in silence. After a few moments, the teacher walked in. She was beautiful. My eyes stayed on her as she walked to the front of her desk and leaned on it. She had blonde hair and had it curled a little. She had coconut brown eyes and she was wearing a dress that hugged her body in all the right places. "Good morning everyone. My name is Professor Stark and I'm your new English Literature teacher. Where are the rest of the students?" She asked looking at each of us and as she  made eye contact with me, she smiled, showing off her adorable dimples. I smiled back and replied, "Professor Stark, not many people come in on the first day so it's probably just us 6 in class today. The others should be in tomorrow though." Her smile grew bigger which made me blush. "Thank you. I don't think there's much point in starting work so why don't we get to know eachothers names and a little about eachother." She said as she handed out pieces of paper. When she came to my desk, she smiled and handed me a piece of paper. "I want you to write your names on the top of the slip of paper and write a small paragraph about yourself and you can tell the class." She said as she made her way back to her desk and sat on it and watched us as we scribbled our names and paragraphs on our slips of paper. When I was finished, I looked across at the other students who were still writing. I looked up at Professor Stark, only to find her staring back at me smiling. I blushed and looked at the floor, suddenly finding the floor interesting. A few moments later, she broke the silence. "Ok everyone. Let's start with you." She said directly to me, smiling and showing her dimples. I nodded my head and stood up.

"My name is Rachel Jackson and I'm 19 years old. I play drums, box drum, guitar, piano and I also DJ. I live with my brother, Chase, since I was 4 when my parents died in a car accident. I have a black belt in kickboxing so I know how defend myself. People say I'm funny so I'd have to agree with them there." I said, reading out my paragraph then looking at Professor Stark who was smiling warmly at me. "Thank you Rachel. You're very talented." Her smile grew bigger as I smiled back and took my seat. A little while later, everyone read out their paragraphs and Professor Stark let everyone play some board games. "Rachel, can I talk to you outside for a moment?" Professor Stark asked as I nodded my head and made my way towards the door. She held the door open for me as I stepped outside and she followed. "If you ever need anything or need a break from work, just let me know. I'll understand." She said, almost apologetically. I chuckled and she gave me a confused look. "Professor Stark, you don't need to do that. My parents died a long time ago. I do miss them a lot, some days more than others, but I'll be fine." I smiled at her and she returned the favour. She took a sigh of relief and placed her hand on my shoulder. I got goosebumps from her touch and blushed, my knees beginning to feel weak. I looked at her hand then back into her eyes. "I know how you feel. I lost my parents at a young age too. I had no siblings so I had to look after myself. I know how hard it can be. I think about them everyday. What I'm trying to say is, if you ever need someone to talk to, you can always talk to me in confidence." She said smiling at me. I smiled back and replied, "Thanks Professor Stark."

I had a feeling I was going to enjoy English Literature this year.
