There are only a few minutes left of class then I can see Professor Stark again. I don't know why I'm this excited to see my professor. I mean, she is the most beautiful person I have ever seen, but there is no chance that anything will ever happen between us. One reason being I'm her student. Another reason is that she's most likely to be straight. It just won't happen. But why did she seem so excited earlier when I agreed to help with setting up the debating club? And it seemed like she was flirting with me earlier, but I was probably just thinking that she was. The bell rang, bringing me out of my thoughts and back to reality. I quickly put my books into my backpack and made my way to Professor Stark's classroom. While I was walking towards the classroom, my breathing pace began to pick up and I was getting slightly nervous. Why was I getting nervous? I was never nervous before. Why was now different? As I came to the classroom, I stopped outside and took a deep breath before opening the door and walking in. She was sitting at her desk and when I walked in, she looked up and smiled, showing off her dimples. "Hey." "Hey" I replied, smiling back. "Are you ready to get started?" She asked as I nodded. She got up from her seat and walked to one of the desks at the front of the classroom which had a few pages on it. She lifted one of the pages and handed it to me. "That sheet basically outlines the things needed. Take a read through it and tell me what you think." She said, handing me the page. I read through it and there wasn't much that was needed to do. "Sounds good Professor Stark." I said, smiling as she looked up and smiled back. "Good. Let's get started."
We pulled two desks at the front of the room together and we both sat down. "What do you think would be the most suitable time for the club? You're a student so you would be familiar with what days would be best." She said while looking at me. I looked up at her and felt myself blushing. "Well usually Mondays and Tuesdays are like the stress days for most people and nobody will stay in on Friday afternoons because they want to get a head start on their weekend. I think maybe Wednesday would be better to be honest." I replied, giving her a smile. "That would make sense and Wednesdays suit be better anyway." She said. 30 minutes later, we were finished sorting everything out for the debating club and there was nothing else to do. I didn't want to go just yet. I was enjoying her company. "Professor Stark? What age were you when your parents died?" I asked. She looked at the desk in front of her for a few moments and I realised that it might be a tough topic to talk about. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. I was just -" She cut me off before I could finish my sentence. "It's fine Rachel. Honestly. I was 6 when they died. They went to the local shop to get in some things for dinner when 3 men entered the shop with guns. They were robbing the shopkeeper and my dad stood up to try to stop them and one of the men shot him. My mom rushed to his side and another man shot her. I was in the car outside and seen the men run out of the shop. A little while later, the police came and went inside and found my parents. My dad had already died due to the loss of blood. The bullet punctured several vital arteries. My mom told the police I was in the car and they came and took me to the police station. My mom was taken to the hospital and died a few hours later. My uncle came and he looked after me." She said, while tears fell from her eyes. I was almost crying myself. "I'm so sorry Professor Stark." I said as she turned in her seat to face me and gave me a weak smile. "Don't be sorry Rachel." She said, tears still flowing freely down her face. I didn't want to see her sad so I automatically gave her a hug without thinking. I could feel that electricity flow through me once again as I inhaled her scent of coconut shampoo. I suddenly froze when I realised what I was doing and pulled away awkwardly. "I'm sorry." I said, looking anywhere but at her. I felt my face beginning to heat up and I knew I was blishing. She chuckled and wiped away her tears. "I could use another hug, to be honest." She said, slightly blushing which I thought was adorable. I reached out my arms again and she leaned in and she hugged me back and once again, I felt that electricity. We hugged for what seemed like a few minutes and she pulled out of the hug. She seemed like she was reluctant to back out of the hug but I dismissed the thought.
"Thank you Rachel. I needed that." She said, smiling. "Your welcome Professor Stark." I said as I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote my number on it. I wasn't sure if I should do this. She could either take it, which was very unlikely, or flip out and get angry at me for giving her my number. I was hoping she'd take it. Hoping. I handed her the slip of paper. "If you ever need someone to talk to, just give me a call." I said as I stood up, grabbed my backpack and made my way to the door. "See you tomorrow Professor Stark." I smiled and made my way down the corridor. "Rachel!" I heard her call me so I turned around nervously and smiled. "Yeah?" "Call me Erica." She said, giving me a big smile before entering the classroom again. I stood there for a few moments, staring at the doorway, grinning like an idiot before turning around and making my way home.

"Rachel?" I called after her. She turned around and smiled. "Yeah?" "Call me Erica." I said grinning and made my way back into the classroom. I couldn't stop smiling. Rachel gave me her number. But this is wrong. She shouldn't be giving me her number. I'm her teacher and she's my student. It;s just wrong. But I couldn't stop smiling. I mentally promised myself I wasn't going to call her but I don't know if I can keep that promise. I made my way home shortly after. Once I got dinner, I got changed into pyjamas and watched a movie. By the time the movie was over, it was almost 10pm. My attention turned to Rachel and about when she gave me her number. I decided to call her. I called and waited for her to answer. "Um hello?" She sounded like she just woke up. "Hey Rachel, It's Erica. Were you asleep?" I asked. "Oh hey Erica. No I wasn't sleeping." She said through the phone. "I know you're lying Rachel." I said, giggling. "Ok I was sleeping, but it's all good. What's up?" I could hear her shuffling around. "I was just calling to make sure you gave me the right number." I said as she laughed. That sound was music to my ears and instantly put a grin on my face. "You think I would do that?" She asked playfully. "Hmm no, but I needed to make sure." I replied. We talked for a few hours. We got to know more about eachother and it was 1.30am. "It's late and you need some sleep. I'll see you tomorrow Rachel." I said, looking at my watch. "See you tomorrow Erica and goodnight." She said which made me smile. "Goodnight Rach." I replied and ended the call. I got to know Rachel more and I was looking forward to what was in store for tomorrow and seeing Rachel again. I brushed my teeth and went to bed and within minutes, I was sleeping.
