Alexia had never met her father, but she did know of him. Of course it was impossible not to, the famous Klaus Mikaelson was a legend, fighting the entire supernatural population of New Orleans to protect his daughter. But that daughter wasn't her and that's what hurt the most, knowing that he was protecting his youngest child with his life and yet he didn't even know that Hope wasn't the only young Mikaelson.
Caroline Forbes never told Klaus about his oldest daughter, a longstanding history of rejection driving her to keep the secret. Once she had learned about Klaus having a second daughter, her decision to keep their own child hidden was solidified. It was an easy secret to keep, he lived in New Orleans and unless he shifted then his wolf wouldn't sense the bond of his own blood.
What she didn't count on was him sending his other daughter to the Salvatore Boarding School. Secrets are hard to stay buried when you have two mischievous, similar looking tribrids running around.
