This thing on my head,
It's neither a piece of cloth or thread.
To some people it's very fathom,
to why I wear it with such beauty and passion.
I tell them it protects me,
it pleases me,
and only God knows how hard it has been for me.
I wear it for the sake of Allah,
for the sake of my lord.
Because then I know I'm safe from Youm Alhysab, (يوم الحساب: Judgement Day)
and I've stepped away from the fasad! (فساد: Corruption)
It reflects this beautiful faith I've come to have learned,
and every time I wear it,
I feel immaculate!
But some people love to discriminate,
call us names full of hate.
None is vital,
Because this is my title!
I've owned it and learned it.
It's one faith where when I was only four I said, "Daddy, I love it!"
Feeling full of gratitude,
because this faith makes the human being have a better attitude.
It's sad to think that some say, "Yes, this is my faith!"
Yet not practice it, THAT'S A DISGRACE!
O, my dearest sisters
Please follow the footsteps of our greatest mothers.
Atqo Allah (اتقو الله: fear Allah)
And say, "Ihidina Alsirat Almustakeem" (اهدنا السراط المستقيم: show us the straight path)
So you'll be protected from Youm Aldeen! (يوم الدين: judgment day)
Yes, my lord is great,
And this faith is my fate!
Allah Akbar! (الله اكبر: God is Great)
Please sister, Astagfur! (استغفر: Ask for Forgiveness)
You say, "I wear the hijab"
Yet you're full of makeup and then wonder, "Why am I so sad?!"
You say, "It's hot, let me show a little."
Oh daring, you've become brittle.
You see your best friends,
showing more skin and following the latest trends.
But when that horn is blown on that last day, they've come to a dead end.
The only message I'm trying to send,
Is that you don't need to follow the latest trend because the faith your practicing is the only thing you have become to bend!
O, my dearest sister,
listen to my advice.
I'm not rebuking I promise,
And I don't judge since I'm just like you, I just fear that you'd make the same mistake twice!
Don't be abashed,
for your sins have clashed,
and created Mount Everest,
O darling, that's a bit vast.
O dearest sister, this is an elongated life.
This is no tirade,
just don't have this beautiful faith fade!
It's Islam I declare,
that beautifies the teachings of this life, never leaving you in despair.
I'm sorry I wasn't there from the beginning of you crisis.
I've been too busy going against my god and becoming decisive.
We try acclimitize,
to the newest trends and lifestyles of our lives;
and we don't realize that we're stabbing ourselves with the knives.
Trust me when I say this, Islam only dignifies!
So don't ever criticize,
The faith of our lives,
Because it brought the hijab,
And this is my jihad!
