RECAP:
As we were walking out of the clothing store’s door, I bumped into a solid wall like thing. Looking up thinking that I had ran into a wall thing, I look into the most beautiful pair of hazel eyes that I have ever seen.
His face was angular, with high cheek bones, with pinkish full lips, and he had a frown pasted on his features. He’s at least 6’6, muscular from top to bottom. The very presence of him was intoxicating, and demanded respect. Or fear.
From me, it triggered annoyance. I look around trying to find Martha, and John. And when I did, they had their heads, slightly bowed and eyes lowered. Oh. Great this is probably a high ranking wolf. I look around again, particular at his group of friends. Not one of his friends were as big as him, and not one of them had the amount of power that he has radiating off of them.
I turn my focus back to him. Oh. Great. I just met the Alpha. How wonderful. A frown comes upon my face as I look at him. I met his gaze and then lowered them, only just stealing a brief glance.
“Excuse me, but I need to leave and you’re in my way. So if you could please move?” I snap before I realize what I said, and how I said it. I start to curse under my breath. I needed to stay under the radar. And this is so not helping me.
I look around once more, and see everyone looking at me like I had killed a puppy. Yup, defiantly the alpha. I steal a quick glance at him and his frown increased. I couldn’t make out his expression. He looked mad, but at the same time he looked like he was deep in thought about something, probably thinking of a way to punish me.
He backs up and I turn to look at Martha, and John once more, “May we go now?” they look at me then to the alpha, and slowly nod their heads as if waiting for him to object.
We walk towards the car. Once in and on the way to their house I ask “What was that guy’s name back there? At the clothing shop?”
They look to one another then Martha answers with “His name is Ian Wolfsbane.” Her tone says not to ask more questions. But that’s all the information that I needed.
Looking through my window, I could see the ocean. Best to keep out of the water for now; due to the fact that our power is water, he can see/sense me even if I so much as I get a drop of ocean’s water on me.
When we finally pulled up to their house, I stood their gaping at it. It was simple yet elegant. It was an older two story Victorian house. The color of the house was a cream, with a black trimming, and porches lining the first and second floor. Martha and John both laugh at my expression. I turn my head towards them and say “I love your house”.
“The views from the house, out to the ocean, are amazing. That’s part of why we bought the property. We had to rebuild though, the previous house was really just horrific. It had an unsound structure, and was leaning a tad bit, the color was faded. The only thing that we really like about it was the fact that it was a two story. But when we rebuilt we kept close to the design as much as possible. It has the same amount of bedrooms and bathrooms, and still two story, and we recycled as much of the wood as we could. The only thing we really changed was the deck around the first and second floors.” John explained as we walk in the house.
“How many bedrooms does it have?” I ask still in a little awe.
“Six bedrooms and seven bathrooms,” a faint smile was on his face as if remembering something “we wanted lots of children, but unfortunately couldn’t.” I didn’t want to intrude but maybe once we got to know each other a little better I could ask why they never have children.
The inside of the house was just as beautiful as the inside as the out, they gave me the grand tour. Of to the right of the entry way from the door was the living room. The furniture was elegant but cozy looking, but off set the wood flooring amazingly. With the yellow from the blue and yellow floral sofa set, setting off wall of a bright, yet light yellow. A fire place being the main attraction making the setting as a formal living room; with so much light coming from the windows, the room looked inviting.
Turning my attention back to the tour; we continued further down the more wide than narrow hallway, off to the right laid the formal dining room. The table that sat in the middle of the room was huge! It looked like it could sit at least 15 people easily. The room was narrow, and had several chandlers hanging from the ceiling. Under the table was a long carpet that covered exactly the right amount for the table. The wood that the table was made out of complemented the rug and the wood that was uncovered. With more windows covering the far end of the wall, more light pooled in, revealing a light blue that graced the walls.
Continuing the way down the hall we come to the end with an opening, the kitchen and another living room. This living room had a flat screen T.V in it, along with broke-in looking leather sofas, and love seats. Looking out around, I noticed glass double doors leading out into the giant back yard. With no fence, the yard connected to the woods which I’m sure had a path to the ocean. Separating the living room was an island counter top. The kitchen colors are dark cabinets, with stainless steel appliances, and the wall color white spread out into the living room as well.
The staircase that leads upstairs was by the front door where we had entered. We went up the stairs so that they could show me where I would be staying. We entered my room and it was the slandered room with a bed and a few dressers complete with a closet. Martha went over to a door that I though was just another small closet, pulled it open and was surprised to see that I had an on sweet bathroom. The window that was on the right side of my bed has a view of the ocean. Great.
“Well why don’t you get settled down, tomorrow you have a big day, with going to a new school and, all you might want to get some sleep.” John said, as he and Martha walked out of the room.
Even though it was only like 2 in the afternoon they thought I was human, and I had a pretense to keep up. Now that I had some new clothes I decided to take a shower.
