I stare, wide eyed at Alec and he just chuckles. I climb out of the pool, shooting PJ a look. He hands me a towel to dry off and sets PJ's down on the lounge chair next to us.
"I see you two are getting along. That's good." He smiles, wrapping my towel around me and kissing my cheek. I frown, but quickly hide it and he doesn't seem to notice.
"Oh... yeah, your sister is pretty... chill." I smile, glancing over at PJ who is now drying off. I look back at Alec and he just nods.
"Well, I'd like to dance again when you're finished drying off. Take your time, I'll see you in the ball room." He smiles, strutting out the door and leaving PJ and I alone once again.
"So... I'm chill?" PJ smirks, ruffling her wet hair. She laughs, walking over to my side. "You're 'chill' too."
I feel my cheeks flaming with blush and I take off my mask, drying my face with the towel. "Shut up, Dork." I mumble, ruffling my hair as well.
"I'm not a dork, Dork." She smiles, taking her mask off. I couldn't help but let my eyes linger on her face before looking away, a smile of my own on my face. When I look up she's wearing a devilish smirk. My whole body freezes and she starts walking closer to me slowly.
Her face is just inches from mine when she leans in and whispers in my ear. "See ya around, Dork." She smirks, stepping back leaving me flustered, blushing a furious shade of red and butterflies erupt in the pit of my stomach.
"Y-yeah... see ya..." I stutter, mentally slapping myself for sounding stupid. I watch as she leaves the pool room and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I walk back into the ball room, my eyes easily finding Alec. I walk toward him, taking his hand in mine and smiling. I sigh, wrapping him into an embrace. Even though he wasn't exactly my type... I had grown comfortable with the thought of marrying him. Yes, I still didn't want to, but I would do it. Alec was comforting. He gave off good vibes.
"Now for that dance." He smiled, leading me in a slow dance. I looked into his green eyes, but my mind was still on PJ. His sister. I shuddered slightly, trying to rid myself thoughts about simple things, like her eyes. God, they were to die for. I quickly decide to focus on dancing, though I felt eyes burning into the back of my head.
I flinch, deciding to look where the burning gaze was coming from and lock eyes with PJ across the room, an unreadable expression on her face. But something triggers a memory and I quickly recognize the expression. Suppressed jealousy.
