William Pasteur had his fathers self control. And there was no need for him to lose his control. He was his parents first child, and he was the only child carrying his fathers name as his second one. His parents loved all of their children but William had a special position being the first child. His siblings looked up to him. His family moved a lot. Due to that he speaks five languages fluently.
Harvard excited him, but he would never show that. However when FBI Agent Ardelia Mapp came to Havard Law School, as a visiting professor, to talk about her work in the bereau he was not capable to hide how much this woman impressed and excited him. Although being his mothers age he felt attracted by her. William knows who he is. And that he has this special aura only boring people can resist.
So one Day after lecture he invited her for dinner. She refused.
He told her that he'd meet her at the oceanaire at 8pm. And he did.

Ardelia Mapp lost her best friend and never found her again. She hated her job (although things improved for women) and she was unable to have a mature relationship. All her serious relationships lasted for a year, then it all drifted apart.
She enjoyed her lectureship at Harvard. When William Pasteur, who could easily be her son, asked her out she was shocked. He was the smartest man she had ever met. So she went to the restaurant. They talked. When the restaurant closed they continued talking in her hotel room. When William left in the morning she finally felt, after 25 years, understood.
