I wasn't sure I'd heard him correctly. "A... kid? As in a small human? As in a human child? As in the offspring of two human beings that can grow into another separate human being?" Peter laughs and rolls his eyes. "Yes? I mean. I can't stop thinking about adopting a little one recently. Life is just so good. I'm so happy and it's so peaceful here. Don't you want to be a daddy?" He asks me softly as he gently lowers himself into my lap.  A kid? Oh god. A kid? Jesus. Who thought it would be a good idea to have me around kids? I'm not very... PG.

On the other hand... I did love kids. Sure they were little snot-nosed gremlins most of the time, but... they were cute. Visions of Peter kissing a squealing toddler or feeding them in a highchair filled my mind and I smiled. "Yeah. Okay. Let's... Let's have a kid." Peter suddenly turns to me, tearing up a bit as he grins. "Really? You'll adopt with me?"

I smile, pressing my lips to his forehead as I mumble. "Of course. You're stuck with me, Petey. I think a kid is a great addition to our family. I wanna be a dad with you, baby." Peter grins, pulling me into passionate kisses as he wraps his arms around my neck. "I love you. I love you so much, Wade."

My heart swells up as I sigh happily. I'll never get used to hearing that. "I love you too. Always will, Pete. Now let me up I have goats to tend to." Pete laughs and shakes his head, sliding out of my lap anyway. As I went outside to feed my little family of goats, I heard a car pulling up in our driveway. I blink in slight confusion, standing on my front porch. We lived in the country, people pulling into our driveway, especially unexpectedly, was a rare occurrence.

I watch as the black sports car rolls up beside my old pickup truck and parks. I saw the "Stark Industries" on the license plate a little too late. Tony Stark stepped out of the driver's seat, jaw clenching as we make eye contact. Rage starts to fill me as I remember how distraught they had left Peter. So much of Peter's spiraling descent was their fault and they didn't try to reconnect with him once. They completely cut contact and suddenly show up at our new home, uninvited, just as Peter is finally getting better. It was fucking bullshit.

"What are you doing here, Stark?" I growl out as he stands, awkwardly in my driveway, Steve Rogers appears beside him, taking his husband's hand as he looks over to me. They weren't angry. They weren't glaring at me or trying to pick a fight immediately. They looked...tired and sad... really sad. "We're not here to fight, Wade. We just want to see our son." Steve's voice calls out to me from across the driveway. "I'm sorry. I can't let you do that. He's just getting better. I don't want you two interrupting our lives just so you can hurt him again. I won't let you."

Steve's mouth opens to speak but I heard the front door opening behind me. Peter's voice cutting through the air, a whisper. "Dad? Papa?"
