After exploring the beautiful sites London offered, Niall and Ali decided to call it a day and head off to get a bite at a small resturant Niall and Ali have always wanted to eat at, just never had the chance to do so, a close friend of theirs also worked there so they were hoping he was in today.
The resturant was lonley and only had four tables occupied at the moment. We were seated at a small table placed on the corner near the window. The gloomy clouds darkened the interior of the resturant, making the grey, sophisticated walls darker and the small lights placed in the center of the tables illuminating the restaurant made it appear more cheerful. Liam and Niall sat infront of Ali and I as the we waited for the waiter to return with our beverages. We sat in comfortable silence. They were all on their cellular devices as I looked out side the window to obsorb everything that has occured the last couple of days. It is still sureal that I am where I stand now. I know I've never feared leaving things behind me and going out just to make myself happy, but the people I leave behind and impact is one of the reasons I hold myself back at times. If I'm honest I only know three people who have impacted my life and I have once called my true friends. Only Two remain now."Thinking a lot?" Liam muttered as I looked over to him, only to find him staring back at me.
"I find myself doing that a lot, don't you?
"At times. Theres more to you though."
"What do you mean?"
"Shit. Babe I have to go into work today." Niall spoke adburtbly as he caught all of our attentions.
"Oh, well thats fine Niall. I can just go drop you off babe and we can just catch up with you two later ya?" Ali questioned us as she started to gather up her coat and purse.
"Thats fine mate, I'll walk Leah back to Carter's after we're done here, the apartment isn't far." Liam looked over at me, waiting for some sort of approval.
"Yeah thats fine I guess. Thank you for showing me around today!"
"No problem Leah, we'll see you soon, alright?" Niall raised his eyebrow placing his hand around Ali's waist as he waited for Ali to put her coat on.
"Yeah, take care alright!" Ali winked over at us as Niall rushed her out of the resturant.
Directing my attention back to Liam he breaks out in laughter at the strange gesture we both witnessed from Ali.
"She's a strange one. They're both strange and as you get to know them more you will appreciate their weird affection and way of treating you." He spoke quickly as he turned his attention to a piece of napkin he seemed to be playing around with.
"I enjoy their company, not to mention they're an exquisite couple."
"Think so?"
"Of course I do! I mean they're both very comfortable around each other, and its both a friendship as well as a relationship. They seem very into each other as well. Want to know what I love the most about it?"
"What is that?"
"They're just very positive and comfortable around each other. Observing them is interesting and both their personalities are like ones I've never encountered. I've only known them for two days and I feel as though I've known them for a very long time."
"Have you ever been in a relationship?"
"Yes."
"Recently?"
I was a little put off by his sudden confidence in asking me slightly personal questions. He didn't know me well but I guess this is a way he would start to get to know me. I didn't blame him for I was a being a bit nosy when I first met him.
"Yes."
"What happened?"
"There is a lot of history between the person I was once with and I really doubt you would like to hear about it. What about you though have you been in a relationship recently?"
"We have nothing but time."
"I'm not sure if I'm comfortable enough to speak about the whole story yet." I say because truthfully I am not.
"It's alright babe, you don't have to tell me." He stated as he went back to playing around with his napkin.
It felt strange, I wanted to let him know what I went through in my past relationship and why it had led me to where I am now, but something was holding me back. I don't want anyone to get attached to me and I don't want to get attached to anyone.
Our food was later placed in front of us and we ate in silence as I debated whether or not I should tell him.
"I was in a relationship with someone older than me." I simply stated as he looked up from his food stunned that I had finally broken the silence between us.
"I mean, he wasn't way old. Five years older than me."
I looked up to see if he was still listening to my ridiculous story, only to find him leaning in and intently listening to what I had to say.
