Before the beginning, there were no people and no land. Only the infinite streams of time and space. From these were born the elements as we know today; light and dark, water and fire, earth and air. They were not the only ones though, there were two final elements, the elements of Life and Void. From the element of Void was born the entity known as the King of Calamity and from Life came the one known as the Queen of the Beginning.

Over the many millennia they spent alone together, they came to dispute between themselves many times. Each time, creating something new in an attempt to top the other in a show of power. When the Queen brought Creation, the King brought Destruction; when the King brought Pain, the Queen brought Healing; and when the Queen brought Life, the King brought Death. Finally, the Queen thought she'd won. She had created the universe, but the King would not back down. In retaliation, he created Chaos; a force that he found neither he nor the Queen could stop. The only thing that they could do was to seal it away.

Creating a prison for it, they sacrificed their lives to trap it inside, creating four locks to seal it forever and scattering these locks across the universe. They knew that traces of Chaos would seep through though, their power wouldn't be enough to completely seal it away, and to counter this, they created seven guardians to protect each lock from the Chaos that would inevitably try to unlock them. From each minor element came four guardians, along with four more to watch over all elements; each of their lives tied to their lock. These were the guardians, but not all of them were strong enough. Over many millennia, the Chaos was able to destroy the Western, Eastern, and Southern locks. Now, only a single lock remained.

“Gah, where is this stupid class supposed to be?” a young woman mumbled to herself as she aimlessly walked around a building, her electric blue eyes darting around and her long black locks bobbing as she walked. “It’s supposed to be in room 1201, but they’re having a Home Ec class in there. Where the heck is it?" Walking around aimlessly for a few minutes, she bumped into a man in a white jacket and grey pants, his shaggy white hair and silver eyes matching his clothes.

“Oh, sorry. Didn’t see you there,” the man laughed.

“Sorry, it was my fault, uhh…” she began.

“Alexander Volkov, or just Alex,” he introduced, chuckling a bit. “And you are…”

“Patti, Patti Kovac,” she introduced.

“Well, Patti, it’s nice to meet you, but… you seem a bit lost.”

“Uhh, well… that’s because I am,” she laughed.

Chuckling, he replied, “ Where are you trying to go?”

“Uhh, Professor Scimone’s Biology class,” Patti told him.

“Ahh, yes, that was supposed to be in room 1201, but they changed it the other day to room 2105,” he responded. “Would you like me to show you the way?”

“Ah, yeah. If you could,” she responded, a slight blush on her cheeks.

“Right this way, then,” Alex said, leading her up a stairway and down a hall before stopping in front of a door. “This is Rokai… er, Professor Scimone’s class.” Opening the door for her, he poked his head in for a second. “Yo, Rokai.”

“What?” a man in a brown jacket and black pants asked. His long brown hair and onyx black eyes matching his outfit.

“Student,” Alex responded, opening the door further and letting Patti in.
