Class 1-A were all sitting in their seats, as the bell had rung three minutes ago and Iida, the class representative, ordered everyone to sit down. However, Mr. Aizawa wasn't seen by any of them. Some of the pupils already knew what day it was for UA. It was a sad day. A day to remember the ones who didn't make it through the experiments. It was January fifteenth, The day of the Selected.

After five more minutes of waiting, Mr. Aizawa walked into the classroom with a tired frown and sheets of paper in his hands. He looked at the class with pity, and what seemed like fear. He walked to his desk and put the files of paper down on it. Then, after clearing his throat, he began speaking.

"Good morning, class. I'm sure most of  you already know what today is."  - He paused, expecting a reaction.

"The selections. Though, I'm not surprised if some of you don't." - Mr. Aizawa added, as he saw the confusement on his students' faces.

"That's why it's my duty to explain, even if I could be sleeping right now."

"Anyways, today is January fifteenth. Every ten years, the government selects 5 random students out of UA, no matter their quirks, age or powers. Don't get so tenced up, 1-A and 1-B are usually left out of the selections. It's mostly the general studies or support course. However, it's still possible to have a student or even two picked from the hero course. I know this, because I just so happen to be one of the selected myself."

The classroom quickly fills with gasps, covered mouths, and whispers. Shota rolls his eyes and cleans his throat again, just to bring the attention back to him.

"In UA history, total of 275 students were selected. Sadly, only about 23 survived the experiments." - 1-A's expressions were something worth to remember. The fear in their eyes seemed bigger, than when they faced real villains.

"Now, don't go into hating me or any other member of the staff. We don't make these decitions. If it was up to Nezu, All Might or me, we would stop this nonsence the moment we got the chance to. These picks are randomised. Since we have 2950 students at the time being, your chances of being selencted are low. They decrease even more if you're in the hero course." - Kaminari and Mina seem to sight in relief, but are quickly brought back into fear and terror as Aizawa doesn't waste time and continues.

"Sadly, they never drop to zero. I can tell you this.. You all are extremely strong and brave. If you do get selected, do not panic. I'm sure you'll add to the survival numbers. But, the experiments can, and will corrupt your mind beyond fixing."

Some of the smarter kids, including Yaoyozoru, Midoriya and Mineta, automatically understood that Shota's tired and withdrawn behaviour isn't his doing. It's the effect the experiments left him. They felt guilty for all the times they called him lazy, or that he looked wasted. Their gazes dropped onto their desks, as Aizawa didn't waste a moment and continued.

"What they do is try to jam a human-made quirk into your body. They want to proove that it's possible. However, it sometimes gives the opposite result of stealing one's original quirk, or giving it a drawback that wasn't there before. My own case was simmilar. The eye strain I get now wasn't there before I got selected and taken away. Then again, the first survivor, Nezu, recieved his quirk entirely off of those experiments. Which prooves that it's possible on an anima-human. That ticks off Tokoyami and Koda. There is 0% you will be selected, because you are anima-humans." - Even if these were rather incredible news for the two boys, their worry didn't drop a single bit. What about their classmates, or any other person in the academy?

" Now, I have the live video of them picking out the five.. rather unlucky children. None of us have seen it yet. Let's hope for the best"

Everyone was at the edge of their seats. People were honestly scared and worried, for both themselves and others. Aizawa made a projection screen appear, and the live video started playing.

"Good afternoon, UA. My name is Asahichi Tomukaro, I am honoured to be the name drawer this happy day. Let's begin~" - An old looking, wrinkly man said, as he rubbed his palms together, before reaching into a giant bowl with thousands of papers. He picked one and opened it. "From the support course... Mei Hatsume!" He said, turning the paper over for us, viewers to see. Iida slashed in his seat, it made the students' hearts break and shatter. It was Iida's girlfriend. "Let's continue! Next up.." - He grabbed another paper and greedily opened it with an evil smirk on his face. "Hero course! 3-A student.. Mirio Togata!" - Deku's heart skipped a beat and Kirishima rubbed his back a little, comforting him, as he was one of the few that knew about their relationship. The two were in work studies for Sir Nighteye, that drew them pretty close. The old man on the screen then took another paper. "From general studies.. Hitoshi Shinso!" - Mr. Aizawa dropped his remote at those words and stood there frozen for a good ten seconds, before he clensed his fists so hard, his nails began digging into his skin. "Just two left! Next we have.. Ah, from the hero course, class 1-B, Itsuka Kendo!" - He said, once again turning the paper around. The class heard a feminine scream from the hallway, probably Kendo from the next door class. 1-A was experiencing a series of boulders rolling off of their shoulders as these names are said and they know they aren't the ones going. Of course, Iida was hearbroken because his girlfriend is being sent away. Aizawa was hurting because his adoptive son was being taken away, just like himself, years ago. Izuku was hurting, because his teammate was being dragged into more pain, than he already is in right now, after loosing his quirk and the ability to be a hero. They let him continue his studies, though, probably out of pity.

Suddently, the class' thoughts were broken by the fizzling of paper. That wrinkly, old man still had a paper to draw.

He slowly unfolded it and grinned after reading the paper.

"From the hero course, class 1-A.."

As he said the class name girls started crying, before knowing who it was. Gasps, shivers, cries..

"Last but not least..

..Izuku Midoriya!"
