Well, what can I say, I am beyond excited, the adrenaline was pumping through my body as me and my best friend Lana made our way through the crowded town centre streets to the newly opened gym. We were going to be getting memberships. Lana said it was the best way for us, on our last year of school to interact with the 'opposite sex' and what better way to do so than watching topless 'lads' walk about, or strut about with killer muscles and sexy abs.
Lana looked over at me when I began slowing down as we entered the gym, she was beautiful as usual, she had her hair in a pony tail, she had naturally curly hair so the ponytail was volumised and looked so alive, she was also a natural blonde, and a natural tanned blonde at that, close your eyes and imagine the perfect californian beach volley ball player and you literally have summed up Lana. She was also pretty tall, she towered over my measily five foot and she was wearing a cropped top with yoga pants and little purple training shoes. She looked like a walking T.V sports trainer, the type that have their on yoga DVDs.
Me on the other hand had my hair in a french plait down my back with my bangs laying crazily over my forhead. I was small, skeleton skinny -which is not the same as slim or normal skinny- it's when you always look ill or on the verge of dying, or you have people coming up to you asking if your anorexic. Yeh, my life was just all rainbows and butterflies. My hair was ginger, yes that carrot orange colour, that made you have to wear any colour apart from green to avoid looking too much like a vegetable. I wore a long, tight fitting vest top and yoga pants, I wore trainers on my feet and I also wore a hoodie.
We walked into the gym side by side and wandered slowly over to the desk. A guy, or should I say man as he looked the same age as my dad, walked over to us. Lana done most of the talking and he handed us the regestration documents with raised eyebrows, I would be wandering too, why two girls, one who looked like she needed no exercise and the other who looked like she would drop down dead at the first signs of intense movement would want to join a gym. It was worse though because this gym wasn't just your usual gym. No, me and Lana had to go one step worse than that and join a boxers gym. The type where hardly any girls go to, and where you walk into the room and there's about twenty guys all punching bags and lifting weights that probably were heavier than half of my house.
"If you two follow me, I will give you a tour of the place, my name is Lucas Mesh, I am the owner of this place." He walked slightly ahead of us as we walked through the double doors. He was talking to us, he showed us the pool, it was olympic sized and completely brand new, kitted out to the nines with everything from wave machines to diving boards. We then walked further to the fitness area, that's where I lost my breathe because this gym could honestly pass as an all males gym, we walked through the doors and the gym was full of guys, of all ages, some with shirts and some without, all lifting weights, running on treadmills and using punching bags. They all looked up when we entered. I heard a few whistles and then all hell broke loose.
"Woah! Dibs on the blonde!"
"Holy Shizz Lucas, you allowed girls in!" The tallest one said that, he was gaping at Lucas like we were extinct creatures.
Two guys walked forward, they were identical, yep, definately twins, all except one had a tattoo on his upper arm, it looked like a chinese dragon but I didn't want to stare too long.
"Introduce Mesh! Come on!"
Lucas seemed to wait until all the exclamations had passed and he waved the guys over. He turned to me and Lana.
"This is Garrett and Gareth Simons" He waved his hand to the grinning twins. "Gareth being the one with the tattoo." Lucas explained, knowing neither of us new who was who.
"Tall lad at the back is Ben James, smaller guy to his left is Ronan Looker, and yes he uses that last name to his advantage, the two on the running machines are Sam and Henry Riley." I looked at each of them trying to remember everyones names when a loud bang of the door came.
