At the door

    It has been almost 1 year since Janet and I started dating and things were going lovely. We rarely fought and were very cuddly. It was nearing Christmas and I was at Walmart wondering what to get Janet. Thinking of what she wanted was hard. Damn, I feel like such a horrible girlfriend, I can't pick out something! "Hey! Draya!"

    I snapped out of my daze and looked up. "Tina?" I saw Tina looking down at me, smiling warmly. I smiled back and giggled, "What are you doing here?" "Getting some makeup supplies for Christmas. I wanna try a new thing. You?"
I got quiet a slight blush appearing on my face. Tina sighed. "You need help trying to pick out something for Janet?" I nodded. We spent hours trying to pick out something but nothing here looked like something Janet would like. "You may just need to get something from the mall. Get her like...uh..uh A PRIDE FLAG! She would love one of those!"

    My heart bursted. A PRIDE FLAG. THAT'S IT! I hugged Tina and thanked her for her help and ran outside, got into the car, and started driving home. I honestly was disappointed in myself for not thinking about it before. I could barely contain my excitement as I pulled into the driveway. I couldn't do the shopping today, I was already a little late for dinner. Janet was joining my father and I for dinner.

I ran inside to already see Janet sitting on the couch having a conversation with my dad. When she saw me, she stood and and gave me a kiss. "Hey Hun." I said. My dad smiled at me.

We started dinner. It was pork chops and mashed potatoes. My dad was getting better at cooking and it was tasting well. "This is great Mr. Kiren!" Said Janet, stuffing more food into her mouth. "Please, call me Shawn." He said. "Alright-"

Janet was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. My dad gave me a confused look, "Did you invite anyone else over for dinner?" I spoke my head, also confused. It rang again. My dad put down his fork and wiped his mouth with a napkin, he stood up as the doorbell rang again. "Coming!" he shouted, and ran out of the kitchen. I looked at Janet and she shook her head, obviously not knowing who it would be either.
