36 | Marley's boggart

Time passed and passed, the school days for Marley Mаcmillan were normal, monotonous and almost always boring. The whole school was much more excited about the Triwizard Tournament and the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang who would be coming on October 30, one day before Hallowe'en.

This year, for the last time, she would study History of Magic, for which she was perhaps the happiest girl in the world. She didn't mind this class, but she was simply uninterested in it. But Marley had to study a lot this year because her O.W.L. exams were coming. She was angry that there were important exams right during the Triwizard Tournament, and she knew that this year would be extremely tiring for her.

For the time being, she was handling her subjects, but she hated going into Snape's classes, especially after last year, when it was revealed that she was the daughter of James Potter. Now he kept calling her Miss Potter, and he despised her even more than before. If he hated her before, he would want to watch her die in pain now. His contempt for her was so intense.

"How is your potion going, Miss Potter?" once Snape asked after he gave the class a task to try make a potion and antidote to it. Marley wasn't the best in Potions, but she was at least trying. She managed to make the potion, but not the antidote. The girl just raised her head up to look at Snape's evil eyes.

"Good, professor." she replied. Snape just bent over the cauldron. He stirred the thick liquid with a ladle and then wrinkled his nose.

"It doesn't look good, Miss Potter." Snape said oily. "The color should not be light orange at all or be so thick. What did you do, Potter? I take ten points from Gryffindor for inattention."

Marley had fists clenched fiercely, and it was then that the bell would and everyone left Snape's office in the dungeons. That's right, there he was. Because Snape was a treacherous snake and deserved to rot in the dungeons.

"I'm going to give him a density of antidote. If I want I can poison Snape with it and then she'll see who laughs last." Marley spoke fervently to the twins Fred and George Weasley, who she was well aware that they and Lee Jordan were planning how to grow older to cross the age range and put their names on the Goblet of Fire.

"Snape has always been so bad with all Gryffindors." shrugged Fred, used to Snape's shitty behaviour. "I thought you already know that."

"Of course I know it!" Marley exclaimed. They had just entered the Great Hall for lunch and she rolled her eyes. "He's a fucking, nasty--"

"He's on the High Table and will take this time three hundred and fifty points, so keep your pretty mouth shut." said George and the three glared at Snape, Marley angrier than ever. Her cheeks fushed but the anger covered it. "I think you need to chill, Mar. I mean, he didn't take that much points. But he deserves to die on the cauldron with your antidote!"

"Thanks, Georgie." blurted out Marley quietly, not taking off her eyes from Snape. Suddenly, his eyes stopped on her and they both looked at each other deadly before the girl sat down on the table with the twins. Angelina and Lee were saving seats for them.

Marley was having DADA with Moody, who turned out to be an extremely cool teacher, but unfortunately he would be only for a year. He told them about some of the Dark Arts, such as the Unforgivable Curses and how to protect yourself from them, so far the fourth-year students only knew how to put them into action. Maybe this year DADA would be the favourite subject to Marley. Like the past year, when professor Lupin was a teacher.

Marley's class hadn't encountered boggarts before, so Moody provided them with a self-contained one, and he would only watch from the side. Marley had never thought about her boggart and she had no idea what she was most afraid of.
