leon's backstory

ch.1

Ever since leon was a young child he had a gift his gift was to be able to steal.leon never did like the fact that he would steal yet he always loved the sensation when he was stealing and would sometimes find himself stealing while he was asleep.he would constantly ask his parents "mama papa why do i keep stealing?"the parent would respond "because it is your nature to steal."leon never knew this but his parents were thiefs and old assassin's who wanted to settle down and have a comfortable life.even though they use to be cold blooded killers neither of them wanted to expose leon to such violence so they would take leon to see the knights.

At first glance leon wanted to become a knight because he was amazed by them by their honor,their chivalry and because he thought they looked really cool.Leon quickly went to the training grounds for the knights early in the morning the next day then grabbed one of the wooden swords and trains a little bit.Leon knew it wasn't against the rules for him to be there training especially since he was a child but he felt as if he was doing something bad.after an hour of training leon thought that he was ready to take on a knight so he challenged them to a duel.the knights laughed at the young boy but saw the fires of determination burning in the young boy.The knights also knew that the young boy wouldn't leave them alone unless the boy was fought so the knights had the lowest ranking knight fight the child.The knight was hesitant to fight a small child but did it anyway so he could teach the boy.leon lasted only three seconds in the duel against the knight.

Even though leon was badly beatened and embarrassed he still got backed up so he could continue the fight against the knight.Leon kepy fighting all the way till nighttime but he was somehow able to last a little longer against the knight through every battle.on their last duel against each other leon was almost able to get a hit on the knight but was quickly parried then beatened.the knight began to like leon and how hard he wanted to be a knight so the knight says "hey kid you got good skills maybe just maybe i might take you in and i could train you."leon got off the floor and yelled "YES THEN I CAN FINALLY BEAT YOU AND BECOME KING OF KNIGHTS"it was clear that leon was hit so much that he was a little delusional.

The knight said "ummm kid you should probably get home cause your parents might be worried sick about you."leon nods then he starts to stumble home.While he was stumbling home he did not notice that he forgot to return the wooden sword so it was just hanging by the waist of his pants.When leon got home he was badly scolded by his parents then his mother healed his wounds with her magic.For the next few years everyday leon was trained by the low ranking knight leon was taught everything about being a knight.One day there was a sign it was the sign of war with the kingdom against another kingdom.like usually it confused the villagers since the kingdom was known as the kingdom of peace as well as the kingdom of monsters since leon and his family were the only humans in the kingdom.The monsters mostly looked like humans except they would have wings or paws or animal ears or horns or scales or sharp teeth but there was something common among the monsters for one they wanted peace and that they were the only being with magic.

The children didn't know why but the adults knew that they were probably being attacked because the humans either hated the monsters or the humans wanted the monster's magic.The monsters tried to spread peace they tried to teach the humans magic but the monsters saw human's evilness and the monsters knew that humans would only do more evil with the magic.The only way that Leon's parents learned magic was because they earned the monster's trust and respect.The knight that was training leon as well as his parents were sent off to fight off the attackers and it took only a month for the war to be done.The monsters had the clear advantage of the war due to them having magic but they still took a heavy hit from the attackers.

When the knights came back leon waited by the gate so he could see his parents but worry grew even more as he didn't see his parents nor his mentor.Leon saw the cart where they carried the dead bodies of the fallen then a knight walked up to Leon and says "are you leon keninton?"leon slowly nods and was very worried since he saw the knight carrying the rings that belonged to his parents as well as his mentor's sword.When he saw the sword leon began to cry since he knew what it meant especially since he always saw his mentor take good care of his sword.the knight says "your parents and mentor fought bravely and their last wish was for you to have their personal things as a way for to remember them.they also asked for us to not let you see how they look since they wanted you to remember the good and not see the bad."

Tears streamed down his face as he tried his best to fight them back but he failed and fell to his knees.the knight picked up leon so he could be taken to an orphanage but would also be asked questions such as "hey kid do you have any other family here?"leon just shook his head and he didn't want to believe that his parents and his mentor were dead.When they got far enough leon got out of the knight's grip then took the rings as well as his mentor's sword.Leon ran over to the cart that carried the bodies then lifted up the sheet to see his parents and his mentor.When he saw them he couldn't believe it at all and he bursts into tears while screaming "NOOOOOOO!"Leon was about to shake the corpse to see if they were truly dead but he heard the knight that was suppose to take leon away getting closer.Leon ran he kept running till he ended up back home that's when he dropped to his knees to begin crying even more.

After hours of him crying he still didn't stop and was huddled up in a corner where he kept crying.Leon got so tired from crying he fell asleep with tears in his eyes then hours later he reluctantly woke up.Leon did not feel anything when he woke up he just felt a little empty inside and all of the joy that was once in his eyes were now gone.He knew what he must do even though he doesn't like it that much and knows that he would be forced to give up his life as a knight if he were to be caught.Leon got himself cleaned up he even changed his clothes to something darker and waited till it was dark outside.He placed his parent's rings inside of a safe place then he left once everything was set.Leon kept his face covered then ventured off into the darkness of the kingdom so he could do what he knows best which was too steal from people.
