That Girl

The Beginning

My name is MaiLynn Copper I am 13 and it is February 13th 2015 I live with my mom, dad, and little brother Payton Copper. I come home from school one day and go inside and my mom was in the living room cleaning and my dad was in the backyard playing with my little brother. I went to say hi to my mom and she said "the teacher called me today and told me how well you are doing in school, I am proud of you"! After that I thanked her and then went upstairs to do homework. While I was in my room I heard the back door open and then close I knew my dad had came inside cause my mom was saying something about dinner. My dad then walked away and came upstairs and went in his room. I heard him open and close the closet and I knew he was going to start drinking alcohol. I ran downstairs and told my mom that he was starting to drink. She started to cry cause she was scared. (My dad is very abusive when he is drunk). I hugged her and she was so scared she was shaking. My little brother who is 5 came in and asked why mom was crying, I told him that mom is scared. He asked why and I said the monster is coming back. (That is what he calls dad when he is drunk). I started to cry to and then we heard my dad open the door from the room upstairs after 45 minutes after he went up. I heard him grunting and I knew he was drunk. I grabbed Payton and went outside. I told my mom after passing her in the kitchen that he was coming downstairs. While outside Payton asked me why we are outside and I said the monster is here now. I told him that we have to climb the fence and go to grandma's house he was just like ok. We went and we where safe now my grandma has no idea how abusive my dad is so when we come over she think we are just visiting. I told Payton that we have to be calm as we go in so grandma is not sumptuous. When we where there we could hear from our house yelling and loud bangs. I told grandma I will be back and I forgot something at home. Payton knew what that meant. He looked scared. I told him to stay and I will be back. I went outside and saw my dad in the front yard and he look weird. I yelled to him and he looked up he saw me and ran to me and grabbed me and said that if I talk I will regret it he then took me to the seller and told me to stay there. I was there for about 10 minutes and then I heard my Grandma and Payton coming to the front door and my dad answered he grabbed Payton and told my Grandma to leave. She started to cry cause she was seeing the real side of her son. She yelled for me and I could hear her and I yelled back and she heard me she opened the seller and asked me what was going on I told her we have to go get mom and Payton. She just said ok and she went home and got her car and came back. I ran to the back of the house and got Payton and mom and we left and never came back.
