I woke up suddenly in a cold sweat, thinking about what I had just dreamt, but the more I thought about it, the more I would forget. I took in my surroundings, I was in my room. Same light pink walls, and the vintage desk in the corner, with the paint chipping off, and the squeaky chair that matched it. I looked at the cork board above the desk, nothing was attached, I don't get homework on winter break. And of course, my closet. The two large sliding doors right in front of me, painted in a clean shade of white.
I lay there, in my bed, with the warm, grey sheets pulled over me, thinking about how I could decorate my room, to not make it so boring. Something seemed different. My room is usually bright, but today, it just seemed gloomy and dark. I sat up, crawled over to my window near my bed, and pushed the white curtains away from me, and as I guessed, the grey clouds covered the sky, and there was a layer of fog covering the ground. I figured I would stay inside for the entire day, I don't get out much anyways. I got out of bed, and walked down the hallway, the smell of bacon filled the house. I walked into the living room, and looked to my left to see my dad in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Good morning!" I heard him say over the sound of sizzling.

"Morning dad." I said.

I got closer to the stove to check the time.
"Nine o' clock, that's a first." I thought, considering I usually wake up at noon.

"Want breakfast?" My dad said.

"I'm ok, I'm not that hungry."

My dad had a look of worry.
"Are you sure? You haven't been eating lately, is everything ok?"

"Everything is fine." I assured him.

I heard the sound of gentle chimes coming from my room.
"Somebody is texting you." My dad said.

"I know." I rushed to my room, and checked my phone.

"How's it going?" The message wrote.

"Hey Elijah, I'm doing good I just woke up" I texted back.

I stared at the grey thinking bubble, with the three dots, he was typing. After a few seconds, a grey speech bubble popped up.

"Cool, can you play today? I want you to meet
somebody."
"I can play." I texted. "What time?"

"We can start now if you want." He texted back.

"Ok, let me get my computer then."

I put my phone down on my bed, and walked to the next room over. I searched for my laptop, and found it sitting on the nightstand. I picked it up and took it back to my room, then I laid it on the vintage desk, and turned it on. By this time, Elijah was already calling me, he couldn't wait for more than a minute. I answered.

"What took you so long?" He said.

"It only took a minute, you're so impatient." I said as I turned on my mouse.

"Anyways.." Elijah continued. "..I'm going to add somebody to the call ok?"

"Fine with me, I like making friends."

I stood there, waiting for this person to be added and then I heard a soft voice say: "Hello?"

"Bailey," Elijah said. "..I want you to meet Jonah."
