Mike sighed, leaning against the cold wall with his arms crossed. It was a painful sight, the whole pizzeria burning, becoming nothing but dust and smoke. No one came to help. The place has been closed for a rather long time - five years. Due to many accidents including injuries, kidnappings and murders, the town itself was pretty much deserted by most of the inhabitants; not Mike.
The young man was born there, grew up there, and he would die there. He had the chance to see the animatronics when they were still active and friendly, played with balloons and videogames, listened to the cute songs - but also heard the screams of panicked parents and saw the blood sliding out of the robots.
And there he was, watching his childhood burn to ashes, not doing anything.
He grabbed his cigarette and opened his mouth to let out white smoke. He gazed at it, watched as it vanished in the sky. The noise of burning wood was somewhat relaxing.
" My God. " He whispered, noticing a shadow in the fire, standing up, moving. He narrowed his eyes.
One familiar friend walked slowly toward him, well, tried. It was quite hard, considering how broken it was. The child inside it was surely carrying one more trauma and so much fear his little body couldn't take it. Mike considered helping, but then shook his head and threw his cigarette on the ground, stomping on it with his foot.
He heard the animatronic calling his name, begging for him to help.
He did not.
He walked away, sighing once again as he heard the whole place falling down, reduced to just burnt wood, and the bear screaming in agony.
" Fuck you. " He mumbled. A few tears rolled down his cheeks as he left. " Fuck you all. "
He hated the feeling in his chest, he wanted to run into the fire and save his best friend, the one he had since he was five years old. But his mother told him to move on and find a better life. Since they first day he worked at Fazbear's, his mother cried and cried, wished her son to leave the company before it was too late. She knew about the accidents, she did not want her son to be the next victim.
The pain in Mike's heart eased as he thought about how happy his mother would be.
He glanced at the place, at the black hat that had fallen on the floor, one last time. He blew a kiss to his friends and sped up the pace, running away from his happy memories and the fun times he's had with the animatronics.
It was time to change.
