36. Memories

"Well that's not 100% true, but can we please talk. Without her here?" She says

"She's staying." Jack says firmly with no hesitation.

They're sitting on the bed and start talking. "Ok, Gabbie when I explain it on some of the parts I'm gonna need you to back me up please," she says.

"Wait, did you have something to do with this?" He asks suspicious of why I would need to back her up.

"Just listen don't ask questions right now. Ok so firstly I am technically cheating on you but I'm very sorry for that. The person I'm cheating on you with is making me do it I really don't want to hurt you. Gabbie you know, it's Gabbie's ex. He was abusive to her and is to me." She explains

It takes Jack a minute to process everything that Aspen just explained to him.

"Then why don't you just break up with him?" He asks

"It's not that easy," Aspen says. "But Gabbie got away why aren't you able to?" Jack asks confused.

"It wasn't easy though, I left multiple times. Each time he somehow got a way to find me and bring me back. The only way he's going to let her leave is if he has another girl," I say back in order to try and have it make sense.

"Ok, can't you get a restraining order or something?" Jack asks.

"Jack you're not getting it, he doesn't care if there's a restraining order. Or if you go somewhere he's gonna find you and he's not gonna be happy, it's gonna be worse on Aspen than anyone else."

I say getting emotional because I've tried all of that and it just made things worse for me.

"I did try that, he locked me in a room and starved me. I almost died, he would bring his so called 'friends' over and have them rape me. He would beat me worse and worse each day. I don't know how I'm alive. I can't have that happen to Aspen, it took me a really long time to get over that," I say while sobbing.

When I'm done talking Jack catches me because I fall to the ground from all the emotions and memories coming back to me.

I finally updated what a surprise!!!
I don't really have an excuse other than not having the motivation and having the longest writers block in the world.
I was thinking of discontinuing the book, but I decided to start it back up.
So just leave any suggestions you have in the comments that his part in the book is based off a suggestion I got a while ago.
