Bailey's POV

"Thank you Larry, See you after break!" I said as I stepped off of the school bus and onto my driveway with my little brother.

I'm one of the only seniors on my bus and I always get asked why I don't just drive myself to school. The answer to that question is that I like to save my gas. Why waste more money on gas to go to school everyday when I can take the free ride the government provides for me? That is the type of logic I live on and I honestly believe won't change.  I also have a younger brother who I like to keep an eye on. He's only a sophmore and hasn't learned how to drive but I know he will stop taking the bus once I graduate.

I normally sit near the middle of the bus on the right side. It's the safest part of any bus to sit on, one because you are facing away from traffic and you won't sustain critical injuries if the bus is rear-ended or if a head on collision occurs. I tend to listen to music in the rides but sometimes I forget my headphones.

I grabbed my keys out of my back pocket and unlocked the front door so both myself and my brother could enter. I always lock the door on the way out the house, just in case. We walked into the kitchen to greet mom and dad who were sitting at the kitchen table drinking hot chocolate together.

Dad used to be in the military but now he is the pastor at our local church. My mother used to also be in the military. That is how they met and fell in love many years ago. She has her own business called, "Tina's Candy Shop." She makes delightfully sweet homemade candies.  My dad whose name is Phil, is very built and has a full beard. He can be intimadating at first but is a teddy bear once you get to know him. My mother however, is very timid, sweet and caring. We come home to a clean house that smells like freshly baked cookies. I couldn't ask for anything different.

It is funny because we look nothing like our parents. My brother is 6 foot 3in, has a muscular body, blonde, deep voice, an incredibly sharp jawline, stubble with light freckles across his cheeks and nose. I have some of the same features as my brother but I am on the shorter side and obviously more feminine. I'm 5 foot 3 inches, slim but I get called thick a lot which I disagree. We both have freckles and I'm also a dirty blonde with blue eyes compared to his brown ones.

Mom is thin and 5 foot 5in while Dad is a stagering 6ft 7in. Mom has brown hair and green eyes. Dad likes to compare her eyes to tall grass moving in the wind and mom says his eyes, which are blue, are like watching the waves hit the shore on a sunday morning beach walk. They are so romantic and I strive to have a love life  like theirs.

"Hey momma and Dad." I said as I put my bag on the floor in the corner, "What is the plan for today?"  My brother, Jeremy sat his bag next to mine and went towards the pantry to grab a snack.

Dad took a sip of his hot chocolate then looked up at me, "Well I am not doing anything today," his eyes went to my mom who was in her llama Pjs and said, "your mother is thinking about planning a christmas party though."

I looked up at mom as my brother came running to my side, "No way, that sounds fun."  I said. My brother seemed to agree by how much he was nodding while chewing on some gushers.

Mom smiled, "If you want to you can invite your friends, it will be in 3 days," My brother and I started to ramble on about who we would be inviting and what we could do before mom chimed in again. "Now my sweet hearts I'm expecting both of you to help me set it up and clean up." I smiled to which my brother groaned and started to walk away before I pulled him by his jacket sleeve.

"Yes mother we will help out as much as we can, thank you." I looked at my brother and nudged him which made him roll his eyes. I stepped on his foot making him jolt up slightly before mummuring out a 'thank you.' He quickly grabbed his bag and headed up to his room to go play video games after mother told us we could go upstairs.
