"Good-bye, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth waved into the laptop camara. The box on the screen showed Percy's face. Unlike common video chat on computers, not once did it loose reception or get blurry because this was Daedalus's laptop. The most advance laptop known to man-kind and it wasn't even known to most.
Percy's bright sea green eyes dimmed as he realized that Annabeth had to leave. His raven black hair was messy in that perfect way that made Annabeth's heart skip a beat. He frowned, cocking her head at his girlfriend, "Do you have to go?"
Annabeth smiled sadly at him, "Yes, I have class."
"Which class? Which professor?" Percy wondered, "It's a week from Christmas, how can he still make you go to class."
Her frown disappeared as she glanced out her dorm room window. Frost covered it, and powdery snow fell from the stone grey sky. Down on the street cars were covered with snow and parked along the snow banks. A person was snow blowing and a group of kids were having a snow ball fight. The streetlights were decorated with decorative snowflakes and Christmas trees made from tinsel.
"Professor Belby, Architecture History and Style," She answered, staring forlongingly out the window.
Percy snorted. Through the camera you could see Percy sitting on a bench, people walked around him, talking on phones and whispering with friends. He must've just gotten done with work. He often video chatted with Annabeth, not caring what others thought. A crooked smile decorated his face as he stared at his girlfriend with shining eyes, "Ugh, sounds like a pile of schist."
"He's smart," She chuckled, "and, I have to go or I'll be late."
"Fine," He pouted. Giving her a fake kiss, he continued, "Be smart, be the Wise Girl I know and love. Blow them away, literraly so I can have more time with you."
Rolling her eyes, Annabeth 'kissed' him back, "I'll talk to you tomorrow. I miss you, love you, and I seriously have to shut up and leave. Bye!" With a big sad, but supporting, grin Percy logged off and Annabeth closed her laptop.
Shoving the laptop into her backpack, she stood up. She quickly slipped into her winter coat and wrapped her knit scarf around her neck. After learning how to weave, she also learned how to knit. So she knit herself gloves, scarfs, and hats. Annabeth then pulled on her backpack and boots before leaving the dorm. Her roommate was in the bathroom, they didn't get along so Annabeth didn't say good-bye. Her room mate's name was Peggy, and she was everything Annabeth hated. Peppy, obnoxious, overly-excited, and laughs at everything. Her side of the room was decorated with pink, purple, and boy band posters. Annabeth's was covered with sketches and designs for buildings, greys, and pictures of her and her friends.
Annabeth left her dorm building and was met with the icy wind biting at her cheeks. Cambridge and Boston were pretty this time of year, well, every time of the year. With the dark red and brown brick buildings on the Harvard campus and the white that made them pop, it was beautiful. The beauty of it was constant and always held a spot in her mind as she walked to her classes. However, whenever she thought of how breathtaking Boston and Cambridge and Harvard were, it reminded her of how far away Percy was. He moved to North Carolina after the war to help out with conservation movements.
She shoved open the door to where her class was. It opened up into a big auditorium, with one huge mahogany desk in the center. A Mac computer, multiple pencils, glasses, and a phone were on the desk. Behind it, stretching from wall to wall was a black board. Sketches of buildings, built and yet to be built, were hung up or drown with chalk. Professor Belby was shoveling around something on his desk, and barely looked up as the heavy wave of young adults flowed in.
