I look up, the shock unmistakable on my face. "Really?" I ask, hardly daring to believe it. He nods, "I said anything, didn't I?" In that moment all I can think is that maybe Draco isn't the heartless bastard he pretends to be. I think that maybe he truly cares for me and a small speck of hope sprouts in my heart. I think that maybe this will all work out fine and I can't help but throw my arms around his neck. "Thank you," I whisper against his chest. He hesitates but then wraps his arms around me, "Anytime."

I pull back and feel the anxiety return as I remember we're still in my fear landscape. Once again, Draco can easily read me but this time I'm thankful because I don't have to speak. "I'll get you through this, come here," he says. I'm not sure why but I don't move. I'm rooted to the spot, anxiety slowly seeping into every cell in my body. "Do you trust me?" he asks. I should say yes but I want to say no. I want to tell him I'm petrified to trust him because every time he asks me to trust him in my nightmares he turns into a monster. "Do you trust me?" he asks again. "Yeah but-" "Raven, do you trust me?" he cuts in. I take a deep breath, something in his eyes tells me he means what he says. "Yes." "Then take my hand. Trust me to get you through this." I hesitate a second before taking his outstretched hand. "W-Wait, I don't think we jump!" I say, before he can pull me off with him. "Then what do we do?" he asks. If I were scared of heights, I'd overcome that by.... "We climb higher," I barely manage to whisper. He looks around until his eyes land on a ladder. I let him pull me towards the ladder and watch as he props it up against another, much higher building. There's an alleyway between the two buildings and the second building is so high that the ladder is almost straight up.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. "Ready?" asks Draco from behind me. I nod and begin climbing up the ladder. I can feel Draco right beneath me. I glance down and suddenly I'm frozen. I can't move, I can't look away, I can't talk. I'm frozen. Draco climbs up to the step just below mine, his hand at the side of the ladder, his chest pressed into my back. He puts his other hand directly on top of mine and gives it a squeeze. "I can't," I whisper, finally squeezing my eyes closed. I try to focus on the strong chest pressed against my back, the warm breath on my neck, the masculine hand squeezing my own but all I can feel is the distance between the ground and I. "Just breathe Raven. Take a moment. You can do this," he says, his breathe tickling my ear.

I can feel the heat radiating off his body, can smell his mesmerizing cologne. His body against mine is making my legs go weak, his scent and warmth and strength is making me want to lean back and fall asleep against him. His voice in my ear is making my body ache in ways I shouldn't be aching half way up a ladder. "Ok, you need to back off, Malfoy!" I say in frustration. "What?" he asks. "You need to back off! You need to stop what you're doing! Stop pressing against me and breathing in my ear and touching my hand or I swear Draco I will start climbing you instead of this ladder!" I spit out. The realization of what I've just said hits me and I suck in a breath, pressing my lips together and hoping he didn't quite catch that. It feels like he doesn't speak for ages and I'm beginning to think he'll never reply. He takes his hand off mine and I gasp as I feel him wrap it around my waist and pull me closer to him, "I don't think I want to stop," he says in a sexy low growl. I shiver as he starts kissing a trail down my neck, "Because I would much rather have you climb me than this ladder." I bite my lip, not to moan at his words. I lean into him sighing as he nuzzles his nose against the crook of my neck. "But if you're sure that's what you want," he says and my eyes snap open as I feel him pull away. I grab his hand and pull him back up to me, "No, that's not what I want! Keep going," I see lightheadedly as I feel him press back up against me. I lean into his chest and let my eyes droop closed, "Don't stop. Don't ever stop," I barely whisper, tilting my head to one side to give him better access. He begins nipping and sucking on my neck causing a light moan to escape my lips. I need to kiss him. I need to feel those electrifying lips on my own. I turn to face him, one hand still clutching the bar behind me, the other wrapping around his neck and into his hair. He takes my lower lip lightly between his teeth and presses his hand into the small of my back to pull me closer. I moan his name as he kisses down my throat towards the top of my breasts. I let go off the bar behind me and cup his cheek, bringing his lips back to mine. I don't even know how he's holding us both up with one hand but I really don't care. My fingers slide into his hair and slip my tongue into his mouth, running it along his teeth. He wraps his other arm around my waist and pulls me closer to his body.
